Was just trying to make a change to a reservation on the phone and they couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. Then the supervisor told my rep that they actually made the change at midnight eastern time, not central like they had been telling everyone. Looks like I'm sticking with my original reservation.
She said it shows both point values because she updated my phone number on it after midnight eastern but that I'm still locked in at the old points. Kinda scarey.

I snuck in a speculative booking for Conrad Tokyo next year (GLON -- couldn't get through to the Axon number) just before the change, and also a 'staycation' at the BJ doubletree, just after the change -- had to book the latter by phone due a persistent glitch on the website.
Have decided I'm going to use the (small) remaining pile of my points for 'value bookings', at properties which are far better value post-devaluation -- mostly doubletrees!
A couple of tidbits from the changes to points at the doubletree beijing:
1. "Premium rewards" are useless at these properties. E.g. standard room is 830RMB (5k points -- value 2.6c/point). Executive room is 930RMB or 50k points (.3 c/point).
2. Points and cash on standard rooms are remarkably good value -- I really should have booked that instead: Currently 2k points + ~180RMB, valuing each point at >3c/point!!

This is how mine looks too. According to the customer service rep and supervisor, it's "okay" and we're "locked in at the lower point value" even though it looks whacky.

Yes, that's strange. In my Hhonors account, all my Award bookings show the new points rate, but the total is the correct sum of the old points rates.

A few hotels I have checked the cash and points have gone DOWN.
For example: Barcelona Diagonal Mar was 25,000 points + EUR 69
Today: 20,000 points + EUR 63 - this is for end July 2013.

Whilst the new 'full' rates are yet to appear for a lot of properties (e.g. in London), the new points + cash rates have started to show.
Hilton Tower Bridge is 28,000 + 78 /night.
It's only showing for weekends, which is when this hotel drops considerably in price anyway. In February I paid 89/night for Saturday to Monday... Most of us probably don't value 28,000 points @ 11, even with the new rates!
On the plus side, that's not too large a jump for the cash & points rate imo, which suggests there may be some good value to be had still on some other properties c&p rates.

In the SPG program, often times the C&P awards were the better bargains. Maybe Hilton is headed the same way

I've just looked at the Barcelona one, and on the same dates cash rates are towards 200 euros so the C&P rate looks very good ^
Before the devaluation the vast majority of my stays were C&P as they always represented the best value for redemption for me. So fingers crossed it continues!

You're right.
That's really weird.
So C+P point rate is now less than 50% of full rate?
(80k, vs 32k+1163HKD)
That's somewhat good news i guess? Though not so good if they also increased the cash part
edit: Okay, i checked several other properties. For C+P, the point cost is now consistently 40% of full points.
