The SNCF have said there would be spot checks, but not everyone would be asked for it. I've had it before boarding (where people without a pass were denied boarding) and on board (where I think the fine is 135 euros and a threat to offload you at the next station, but I haven't seen either happening). There were talks of exit checks too but I doubt that would be practical the way stations are designed.

I would also add I was asked for my pass at 100% of restaurants/bars I visited over two weeks in Paris, Marseille, Aigues Mortes, Arles, Nimes, Aix-en-Provence, Nice, and Cannes, including even gelato places and bakeries where I was sitting on the patio. (Plus museums, every hotel/guesthouse and a private beach.). A few places I saw people with CDC cards or test results from the US before departure but within 72 hours and they seemed okay. |
Alex67500..... I was able to save to files as PDF and also was able to use my phone to mark up and blackout AA #
Edited to say: I ultimately used AA’s email your trip details to myself since it has flights and dates and Traveler names but no record locator or ticket numbers. I then converted it to PDF by adding it to my Files app….I also have a JPG of it Does anyone know if this will work for the application for the Passé-Sanitaire? |
Has anyone gotten the pass through the new online portal and actually received a QR code back, or if not, has their status go into at least “under review”?

The site says it’s only for non-EU citizens. Any chance anyone here with a EU citizenship and green card has tried to use it?
Edit: found a more comprehensive text which says “not been vaccinated in a EU member state” so it’s not based on citizenship and green card should be ok. |

When are you scheduled to arrive in France?

They do publish a statistics page tracking their progress. They also publish that they work 9 AM to 6 PM local time, so they’re probably done working for the day.
So far they have 91,943 submitted requests for passes. They’ve processed 9,235 of them. That leaves 82,708 requests pending. So far this week they’ve processed 6,118 requests, Monday was not a holiday in France, and I’m assuming that today’s numbers are reflected in that count. Thus, they’ve gotten through ~2,000 requests/day this week. (Last week they only processed ~300 passes per day.) Last week, the Wayback Machine caught an earlier version of the statistics page in one of its crawls, and it shows that last week there were 24,002 total submitted requests. So they’ve taken ~58,000 requests in the last week, or ~12,000 per working day. They’re processing passes at a rate 6X slower than requests are coming into the system, so… they’re overwhelmed. Pretty clearly. We can only hope they continue to ramp up their processing speeds, and that requests slow down a bit. We can also use this to estimate a lower bound on the probability that a person gets a pass by the time of their trip. For instance, I travel to Paris a week from today. So, if current rates continue, the French will receive ~58,000 more requests, for a total of ~141,000 requests pending in a week. Over that same time, they will be able to process 10,000 requests, making a very rough estimate of my odds out to something like 7% in the worst case scenario. They do claim to be processing requests based on arrival date, so that probably does increase my odds a bit, but with the data points of people receiving them somewhat randomly, that effect must be limited. That they’re so overwhelmed probably also explains why they haven’t updated the date on the other page yet where they track what arrival dates they’re processing now. They probably still have more Sept. 5 arrivals in the system than they know what to do with. |

When did you submit request?

We submitted our requests via email on Aug 25, and on the website on Aug 30. Our "dossiers" state that our requests are still under construction, and that their calculation of the average wait time is 11 days (was 10 days yesterday). This is our 3rd day in France. We haven't really done anything that would require a passe, but expect to soon. C'est la vie.

Amazingly fast turnaround
Applied for the pass this morning and a couple of hours later I checked my account and voila! A have a PDF of the pass and QR code. I put October 20th as my arrival in France. What has happened to the French that they suddenly got so efficient?
