The significant change, if adopted by the County, is that ALL travelers would need a pre-departure covid test (within 72 hours). Italy adopted this recommendation on Friday. It is not clear what other countries will also adopt the new testing requirement.

Went directly to Bader Pharmacy on B. St. Michel near Place St. Michel, and was given an antigen test that produced within one hour a pass that is good for 72 hours. Took photo of it and the front desk at hotel check to see that it was valid, which it was... (green checkmark in the app of the concierge)....

Bader will not convert your US vaccination card into a pass of any sort.. only option is the antigen test...

As to last night the pass, is UNIVERSALLY REQUIRED. Did not see anyone try to use any other format except paper versions of the QR code.

By the way the cost of the antigen test at Bader Pharmacy was 25.01 Euros..

If the pass issued by the pharmacy (after the the antigen test) is good for 72 hours, does it mean that you will have to go through another test to get a new pass good for another 3 days?

Yes. The QR code essentially expires.

Perhaps I was lucky, but I asked at 2 pharmacies today and the 2nd one converted my CDC card in under 10 min, no questions asked, no charge.

Mind sharing the name and location of the 2nd pharmacy?

Has anything been updated as far as travel to France from the US? I had read that we would be advised on Monday?

Yes .. I would love to know which pharmacy you had success with too ... I land tomorrow morning (Sept 1) and have been waiting for my QR code since Aug 10th and have 2 days ago submitted through the new portal that was set up.

Much appreciated!!!!

I don’t recall which pharmacy — it was in the 9th. Honestly I just decided to stop and ask at every pharmacy I passed during the day since it can’t hurt to ask - and the 2nd one said no problem. I overheard someone at dinner say they had the same experience at another pharmacy (though with a 25 euro fee). So just make it a mission when you arrive, and be polite when asking. ; )

also FWIW last night before I had the code, I had no problem sitting down to dinner with just my CDC card. So don’t sweat it, but it’s definitely comforting to have the code. Every restaurant or cafe I’ve been to has required either the code or CDC card.

Nothing has changed so it is status quo pre the EU proclamation.

Per the Wall Street Journal (paid site): https://www.wsj.com/articles/europes...d=hp_lead_pos7

"Like Greece and Italy, France so far hasn’t changed the current requirements of a proof of vaccination against Covid-19, a negative test result taken within 72 hours before departure or proof of having recovered from the disease.

An official at France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the country reviews its travel lists regularly based on the latest health indicators. Travelers from countries deemed high risk still can travel to France if they have been vaccinated with a shot recognized by the EU, which are those made by Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer —as well as by AstraZeneca.

“U.S. tourists are welcome to come to France,” the French official said."

It seems like the official page documenting the steps to get a foreign vaccine credential converted to an EUDCC was updated overnight. Last night it said they were processing all requests with an arrival date before August 31. This morning it now says they are processing all requests with an arrival date before September 5th. They note that they will process requests with later arrival dates later.

Thus, they seem to be processing applications on a rolling basis based on arrival date, with a “goal date” being set out in advance.

Edit: It’s been pointed out that I am not the first to notice this. Sorry! I did look back a few pages, I promise, it’s just a big thread.

As noted in prior posts, such rolling updates have been happening since the page was launched weeks ago.

While it is true that for now, at least, France has not changed it's COVID-related entry requirements, it appears that the WSJ reference to Italy cited above is incorrect. The latest information from the Italian Embassy in Canada -- and elsewhere -- indicates that entry to Italy from non-EU countries now requires a COVID test (Antigen or PCR) within 72 hours of arrival into Italy even if one is fully vaccinated. In addition to those traveling directly from NA to Italy, this may effect those who are travelling to France and then continuing on to Italy, depending on the length of the stay in France. The good news is that it's relatively easy to get an Antigen test in France. The bad news is that France may well change to conform to this EU "advice". I don't know what other EU countries are doing.

Does anyone have any luck in following up with the pass sanitaire conversion process? We land in France tomorrow and I applied online a week ago and heard nothing back. I'm kind of worried about it, because as far as I understand we won't even be able to get from the airport to the city without one...

What city are you landing in? In Paris, there is no check when boarding the RER train from the airport. You can also get a test when you land at CDG, and if it is negative, will get a pass sanitaire that expires in 3 days.
