Oh, that's the day I was supposed to fly before I asked them to reroute me. Another service break or plane just empty because all pax wanted rerouting?

Me too. At least I am in J? No wiggle room in my schedule to reroute, unfortunately. Hope today's flight is not terrible and stays on schedule. Fingers crossed.

These ongoing "AY op by whatever" surprises seem to be one more reason to avoid codeshares at all costs.

AA will reroute, but not really rebook. AY allows rebooking after the end of the Xmas season.

This makes me increasing nervous. I checked on AY website. It seems that they are still selling tickets for JFK-HEL on Nov 29 . How did you know that AY5/6 on Nov 29 would be cancelled? Do you mind checking if AY6 (JFK-HEL) on Nov 19 is still on schedule as of now?

AY6 was cancelled last Saturday (Nov 12). I am on pins and needles now.

Selling AY6 29NOV where? On AY site there is no AY6 available.

AY5/6 were cancelled on Friday 11. Saturday 12NOV flights were as planned.

19NOV no changes, 5K A343 scheduled to JFK and back.

Thanks for checking and clarifying. I did a mock booking at https://www.finnair.com/us/gb/

I might have left the flexible +/- 3 days checked, or my morning coffer did not work and I did not see the different traveling date. I checked again with the fixed date, and there's no non-stop flight on Nov 29.

I am glad that AY6 on 11/19 is still on. Whew!

Interesting. If they don't do it by midnight, then anyone who's interested in fighting for EU compensation could try their luck. Buy a ticket less than 14 days before the flight, get cancellation message at some point, reimburse and claim 600 €.

By the way, what is the reason for these HiFly cancellations? The flights are relatively short, the plane stays at HEL for more than five hours every day. Isn't that enough for maintenance?

I'm on HEL-JFK tomorrow 11/20 in Y on an AA-issued ticket. I just called the AA EXP phone line and got an agent to agree to reroute me at no charge on HEL-LHR-JFK (BA/AA-operated). Unfortunately... the only available schedule doesn't work for me, as it's an 8am departure from HEL, and I need to be there until at least noon. There are later departures, e.g. 4:55pm, which the agent is unable to book since my booking code (O) isn't available on the first HEL-LHR leg.

It's looking like I may be stuck on HiFly... does anyone know of any clever routings I could try? I've set up EF alerts for O inventory on the flights I'd want, but don't think it's looking to likely to show up in the next 24 hours.

That's bollocks. I had booked AA O fare HEL-JFK-CLT-MIA and got rerouted on Y HEL-LHR-MIA (at 8am though).

I routed via DUS and took the AA codeshare on the Air Berlin flight - you could go to TXL and do the same? And I am on super cheap O class and my TATL rebooked into H
