No, you gift the gold card to you gf/bf/so and commandeer the vouchers

Also I'm not sure you get the gold nomination when you hit it, only when you "renew" it, ie when your qualification year resets and the full Plat year starts.

You get gold give away when you become Platinum for the first time and then at the new start of tracking period.

Good to hear - I seem to remember that when it was introduced it came with the wording "when you renew your Plat" or similar. But first time qualifiers do get a bucketful of upgrade vouchers

You can find information on connections on your IFE before landing, or ask the FAs about it before arrival, they know the connections and departure gates well inbeforehand.
Reporting back: SFO-HEL landed an hour late, a minute after HEL-BUD took off. IRROPS handling wasn't bad. They announced detailed connecting info on the incoming flight already, including for people who missed their connections and informing those who need to run. In addition, in J they came around and told me what I was rebooked to - AirBerlin as I anticipated. Upon exit, they had a little folder with all the info, etciket, passenger rights, etc. The only thing missing was the new boarding passes, but they told me I can only get it at the gate. Not wanting to leave things to the last minute I asked around (since nobody was at the gate), but no luck. So I just went outside security, walked about to AirBerlin checkin and took care of it. Was 10 min in an out.

So aside, from the inability to get the boarding passes airside, I was pretty happy with the way they handled it. Now let's see if I'll make my 45 min connection in Berlin.

I'm a one world emerald and I'm flying with 3 other people one of which is a sapphire from jfk to waw in economy. What is our checked baggage allowance and is there any extra carry on allowance? Also can we all use the Finnair premium lounge in Helsinki during our layover?

You as OWE and the other pax who has OWS can check in one extra luggage compared to your ticketed allowance. For everyone else is only what is ticketed (probably 1 pc, up to 23 kg).

Regarding the lounge, only AY+ Plat / Gold and OWE have access to the Premium lounge, all with +1. So the 4 of you will not be able to enter there. However, your WAW flight is anyway leaving from the Schengen side of the airport, where Finnair has a J class lounge. There you'll be able to enter as that is accessible with OWS +1, too.

Should you still want to visit the much better Premium lounge, you can all enter the non-Schengen J lounge and then sneak via the shower area to the Premium lounge. If you need any help with guesting then check out this thread.

Hi folks,

I'm lodging a small claims case against Finnair in the UK for their refusal to pay EU261 delay compensation.

One small hurdle - I cannot find a UK address for them! I have googled and also contacted Finnair in Helsinki who insist they only have an office in Helsinki.

Surely they must have some form of office in the UK...London or Heathrow airport?

This is just based on Google but perhaps you could try this one: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/BR009610 ?

Try contacting Egencia CS, if they have your FF number there while making the reservation, Y/B/H space should automatically be available.

How strict is Finnair with carry-on baggage. My bag is 23.5 inches tall and the limit is 22, do they enforce the 8 kg weight limit? it seems a little low.

Very rarely enforced. If your bag is that dimension then you'll be fine.
