Current and historical promotions

This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.

The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.

Feel free to discuss alterations to the format in the thread below.

Do not delete historical posts.

And in this case it's a campaign, so earning only 25% also on AY tickets (2000/2200/2300/2500 points).

I guess as it's not a great deal it's not been reported yet, but there are double award points on new routes to Ibiza, Alicante, Astana and Reykjavik booked by 13th April and travelled this year. I especially like the way they rub it in in the terms and conditions that no bonus tier points are awarded, by mentioning it twice:

https://www.finnair.com/fi/gb/new-routes

You can now earn double Finnair Plus award points on our new routes to Ibiza, Alicante, Astana and Reykjavik! Book your flights by 13 April 2017 and travel by 31 December 2017.

Remember to register your Finnair Plus membership number on this page before your flight, latest by 13 April 2017, to earn the extra points.

Terms & Conditions:

- Booking period: 13 March–13 April 2017. You must register before your first flight. Only new reservations made during the booking period are eligible for extra points.
- Travel period: 13 March–31 December 2017.
- Eligible booking classes: All.
- Eligible routes: Ibiza, Alicante, Astana and Reykjavik. Flights must be marketed and operated by Finnair (AY code on the ticket).
- The primary address of participants must be in Finland, Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania.
- Only registered Finnair Plus members are eligible for extra points. You must be a Finnair Plus member or join during the campaign to earn extra points.
- Extra points are award points only and do not affect your tier point balance.
- The promotion does not qualify for extra tier bonus points.
- Finnair Plus terms and conditions apply. Finnair reserves the right to make changes at any time.

The first mention refers to "no tier points at all" and the second one refers to "despite tier members usually gets more award points based on their tier, we are such cheapskates that we don't actually double the points"

Or:
Double points ≠ 2x (base points x tier bonus)
"Double" points = (base points x tier bonus) + Base points

Ah yes, so in fact basic members do get double points, but silver, gold, platinum get progressively less than 2x!

Whereas I don't like this way of calculating "double" points, this has been the norm with hotels for a long time. Double = 2x base points, 1x bonus, etc.

Yay - another 'buy points with a small bonus' offer (/s). By the email title (Get up to 35% more Finnair Plus points for free) I thought it might be more interesting than that!

Buy 1,000–4,000 points = No Bonus
Buy 5,000–29,000 points = 15% Bonus
Buy 30,000–49,000 points = 25% Bonus
Buy 50,000–70,000 points = 35% Bonus

Transactions must be completed between 3 April and 30 April 2017 to receive the extra Finnair Plus points.

It is just that on AY double used to mean double. They went this cheap a year ago or so.
But I guess we should be happy that the SK way of cheating hasnt gotten more accepted. Because They'd call this a triple points offer...
"First you get your normal tier points and then you get your normal award points and then we give you some extra award points. So that is three times the points, right?"

I find it weard that that as a non-Finnish Plat member I virtually never receive any promotions - except to buy more AY points.

The AY management seems to think that it is kind of obvious that I'll stay loyal to it. Well, just for the record: it isn't.

2 issues - first, have you got all your preference boxes about receiving offers in emails, texts etc ticked? Second is of course that there aren't that many interesting offers anyway! I spot about half of them first on here or on the AY website etc. rather than in emails specifically offering that promotion...

It's a bit of a pity that there are virtually no promos targeted for the higher tiers. The only one I can think of was an invitation to the whisky tasting – not a very good promotion either, that one.

I cannot think of a single good promotion from AY in ages. They are only related to either buying something at discount, cash+points (completely useless for FFs) or extra award points for some routes they want easy and cheap publicity for..
