Current and historical promotions

This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.

The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.

Feel free to discuss alterations to the format in the thread below.

Do not delete historical posts.

Do you get to choose seats with this type of upgrade? I might not have time for hitting the lounge before and won't have had dinner, so food plus seat choice plus maybe 2x NF if fast might just about = 5000pts...!

I wouldn't give seat selection any value on a 40-minute flight and getting down two NF's might require quite a lot of effort (as the service time is very short).

I have long legs, and am happy to put in the required effort with the NF's

It works. In the olden days, when they poured from regular sized bottles, a mate and I travelling together said "We don't want to buzz you all the time, better just leave the bottle here" and so she did

Last time I flew ARN-HEL in C, the "food" consisted of a dark open sandwich with some fish and mayonnase. And it was mealtime...

Even better! I'll try on the mini bottles...

Yeah, I already asked in the business class food thread and was told it's likely sandwich only, that might be all I have time to get that pm so better than nothing (plus the 2x NF 'salads' for a liquid dinner of course)

The best part is that it works ex-HEL, too.

Going to Tokyo early April: 1700€ to ICN with AY in C (+300€ with JL in Y to TYO) - still saving a pretty penny while arriving some 5 hrs later than the direct flight. The cheapest Y for my dates HEL-TYO are ~2400€ (no kidding) and in C in the region of 4k€. Ex-EUR in C would be the same 2400€ range (+positioning)

This way I can also leave via HND (my preferred airport to NRT) and have a good bibimbap in SEL on the way back and arrive about the same time home as the NRT flight. Last night at the Grand Hyatt Incheon instead of the Hilton Narita.

PS - it's been a while I looked for NRT on the AY site. Simply shocking, how difficult it is to book AY direct flights vs anything else on BA and JL.

I always check prices of EU-Japan route for spring and summer seasons. Most of Japanese have wrong impression that JL tickets are recognized as expensive and preferred to business use, and AY is used for cheap group tours, but the fact is opposite I hope this situation will be improved by the two-daily flights.

I don't like NGO and KIX due to the poor lounge facilities.

My pet peeve.
I usually don't bother with finnair.com anymore.

PS if you are outraged by HEL-NRT pricing, take a look at the reverse "offer" currently on sale. 3600€ and C ticket around 5600€.

For EU-Japan, what would be the best places to look for JL tix to start from?

For me lounges play minuscule role.

NGO is usually cheaper by hundreds on € (vs NRT) and I have customers just 30 mins ride away on a local train. So quite often either in- or outbound I take NGO, saving money and a lot of time in the process.

It's japan invasion 2017

But seriously I have wondered that myself also, NRT flights are totally full all the time. Luckily seat guarantee works and opup is almost guaranteed

Regarding opups, if you say in checkin that you travelling with friend, both of you get opup or neither. I have been quite lucky this year.

Try AMS. You get AMS-FRA/CDG-NRT for just over 2000 € R/T on JL metal on 788/789 .

JL prices even cheaper if just from FRA, but routing thru HEL. On their own metal 2500 €.

Looked at random dates in May.
