Current and historical promotions

This is a thread for reporting details of promotions in the Finnair+ program.

The purpose of the wiki is to keep a repository of current and historical promotions. This works best if all details are given in a post of the thread. Once such a post is made, edit the wiki and add a short description of promo in headline-style, with a link to the post that holds the detailed information. (You can create such a link by right-clicking the post-number and copy link location).
Do not link to the promo itself from the Wiki, as the promo page is likely to disappear once the promo ended and such link will die, leaving the wiki sans historical info.

Feel free to discuss alterations to the format in the thread below.

Do not delete historical posts.

It's just my personal bad luck that in the past 10 years or so I missed 7-8 times full bloom sakura by a week or so (too early/too late) though this year I catched it head on in Tokyo. ^

Then I was in Tokyo a few days before you, I guess. Had to move south to get some flower-love.

you could always book an award around March and another in April and then cancel the one that hits bad during while you are eyeing out the sakura season calender approaching?
You will lose 50€ fee I guess in that but not too bad if spending only 150000 for J

150.000 points for J tickets is ok, but ~300€ in taxes is not... For me that comes too close to Y ticket prices.

I think the same way yes. But I made an exception for that Japan trip due to Sakura season for 2018, not wanting to repeat the Y+upgrade gamble I had last time -> buy a cheapo Y and count on upgrade and you will have major stress for any Japan flight during cherry blossom season. Last time I requested the upgrade half year earlier, pushed and called once in a while, and it finally cleared last minute and the flight was 100% full. And I have stopped travelling longhaul in Y, cannot endure it anymore

Looks like Finnair is on run again.

Kind of hidden again or then I just happened to spot this before they will send out an email about these, but go and log in to your AY pages and go to Finnair Plus sheet and you will find lotteries, quiz, enrollments for flights etc. I did all of them just now, but there was no info what I will get. I got some 150 weird points which I don't see posted on my account so I just donated it to Unicef charity

Well, again another gamification "cool" stuff

The funniest thing in one of the quiz was the question about what are the tier points for silver, gold, platinum. I answered wrong since I did not remember what silver and gold thresholds are, I am not "familiar with them"

OK, either I was mistaken earlier or Finnair's Chief Gamification Officer is reading this thread:

OK now I see there IS actually T&C, but they neither say what are the rewards, other than they are giving away Gold-cards and points in the lottery (where nobody will be notified as winner I guess, as we have suspected earlier).

I somehow feel that this promo can become another lengthy "20k20p"-type thread again, for little gain it sounds oh well, so fun

Oh yeah. Like a headless chicken...

I went to the site, and found the section "Fly Finnair and get extra bonus points". I clicked the "Start" button and got the reply "You have flew zero flights, go book some flights why don't you."

Yeez.

The T&C says "You need to register" (there is no registration page) and "extra bonus points will be credited according to ordinary rules" (no mention of how many extra pbonus points are awarded)

Yeez x2.

By the way, are they actually letting me participate in a draw of a Gold card? Yeah, this has Suunto promo written all over it. Say you will give away stuff. Do a draw, and if "wrong" person is drawed you don't need to hand out what you promised.

This new promotion is just ridiculous and made by amateurs it seems.

T&Cs says:

Eligible booking classes: Finnair Plus partner airlines’ booking classes that are eligible for earning Finnair Plus points. (add link to partner airlines website).

Someone forgot to add that link, plus the link to the registration.

I asked Platinum line where can we sign up for this campaign to get the advertised bonus points from our flights. The answer was:

Our website has wrong information due to a mistake and it will be corrected as soon as possible. You don't need to register yourself. Instead, all Finnair Plus members are automatically registered to these campaigns.

I also asked how many bonus points we will get but haven't received that info yet.

Since it wasn't mentioned yet you can transfer points or exchange award points to tier points until this Sunday without transaction costs.

Thanks Jainzar, very good info! Can't find the info on the web pages though, is it just that they removed the fee if you try to exchange points in the shop, or is there a special link to use?

The "double points for diners card" offer now has some details. At least on the swedish pages it now says "apply for a new diners card and earn twice the points until aug 29". (Despite the text is on Finnair.se the application link goes to dinersclub.fi and is only open for persons with FIN person number. )

https://dinersclub.fi/sv/dc/finnair-...e_points__0517
Ansök om Finnair Plus Diners Club-kreditkortet senast 31.5.2017. Vid beviljad ansökan får du ditt kort inom ca 2 veckor från att vi mottagit din ansökan.
