GL making much ado on the face book about being sued over a blog post.

I'm too traveling to look at the details. Just, you know, in case anyone cares.

"100% Rebate on Flights to Cuba."

That's the title. You get three guesses for what's wrong with it . . . and the first two don't count.

A lot of what's published on travel to Cuba is flatly misleading. Why should Gary's blog be any different?

(Answer: because he actually knows better.)

I never could find anything on that, but then again I'm not a FB friend with him so maybe I don't see all of his posts?

[redacted]

I can't wait to read another mega rant against Qatar Airlines and its CEO from the two BA Titans. Ooops

What I don't get about Gary or the other 2 blogs with no value add is how quickly they change their tunes.

For e.g. everybody keeps writing about the Amex Delta cards and Citi Hilton cards while for years they have been talking about how useless that currency is. I know why they are doing it but it is still pathetic.

A wheelbarrow of skypesos is still a wheelbarrow of skypesos.

Who came up with 'skypesos,' again!?

I am almost certain it was Cholula, in the Delta (Skymiles) Forum. @:-)

Hasn't Gary claimed to have originated it!?

I thought he made that claim also, although I couldn't find evidence that he actually did coin it. I see him clam it plenty.

I found this:

http://www.bizjournals.com/bizjourna...html?ana=yahoo

But there's no trail of evidence there.

Of course, he is a thought leader.

Here is at least one instance of his claiming to have coined the term "skypesos", both in an article he excerpts in the body of the post and in the comments such as this where he acknowledges FT posts using "delta pesos" that predate his claimed first use of "skypesos":

Gary Leff says:
August 7, 2015 at 3:19 pm
@GU Wonder – interesting to see “Delta Pesos” I don’t doubt others used that term as well, I’ve never found an instance of Sky pesos or Skypesos that predates my own, but not sure it matters either way. Point is that it’s a currency whose value is ‘less than par’ i.e. worth less than 1:1 to other major currencies. That was always the point

Here's the earliest use I can find, and it is by Gary:

Can others go deeper? My search skills aren't the best

Gary also makes his humble claim back here:

Just catching up on links people have sent me after 10 days of travel (makes me SO GLAD I am not a blogger as it would be such a PITA to meticulously document my flights and hotels!) and saw this:

So much for even suspension of disbelief that blogger reviews are not tainted by special treatment...

Hey he has a new title now "Air Genius"! If it were me, I'd prefer that they provide more substantial cookies rather than print out memes. It would also be less creepy.
