Hi Emirates777,
Ever since I started following these threads, I had a question going unanswered, thus joining up... Have you any idea about Brussels? I think EK could settle well at BRU. Thanks! Cheers |
I really hope they introduce HAN or SGN soon - For the start I think one of them could work well as a tag-on of the 4th SIN flight.

And we're back to the wish list thread again :D

Hi DYKWIA,
Please don't take the question as a wish. Basically I only want to ask this (educated) question to someone who really knows what he's talking about. Question motivation? @:-) BRU is still the capital of Europe (for what that's worth), with it also being the home of NATO amongs others (both smeared out in the media as important points for the QR start) BRU has no real homecarrier (BrusselsHansa with heavy focus on Africa). PAX is routed heavily through LH Group company gateways, next to AF/KL and BA (of course others still, but these are the main players). Long haul is dominated by US/Canada destinations. We have Jet Airways flying to India (always heavily packed with PAX), and Hainan into China. The only thing close to netwok connections in EK's playing field is EY (going from 6 to 8 times weekly, with respected loads), and QR (just started 5x weekly and wanting to increase to daily saspo). A few years ago I saw part of the BRU 'Masterplan', with targetted destinations and preferred carriers, and DXB was way high up this list, with EK as preferred carrier (ok, for what that's worth). Catchment area is not that small... Belgium, Luxemburg, southern Netherlands, northern France and western part of Germany. Comparing this to the network and capacity of EK, I truly wonder why BRU is not intersting for EK (as opposed to GVA, and God forbid probably first even double daily AMS?) Cheers |

I have it on good authority from a colleague "in the know" and he mentioned the following destinations:
St. Petersburg Washington DC (Dulles) Chicago Rio De Janiero with a tag leg to Buenos Aires Seems like EK only ever announces 4 destinations a year.... K |

Hi Emirates777,
is there any plan to include SKP and/or BWN? Best regards, w00t |
Are there any plans for SGN or HAN?
|
What was the time frame for the third daily Sydney flight to return? Trying to book a SYD > BKK ticket is impossible at this point.

EK may consider it when the new airport opens, sometime in the next few years. SGN will become a Mega hub just like SIN & BKK, well that's there vision, there's still heaps of potential with it being a SKyTeam hub. Also strong rumors that a chairman/director is saying that MEL is going A380 next on the list, about time I'd say! ;) |
