It would be even more stupid for them to reduce fares if the cabins are already full. And the price difference between F and J is much greater than the additional cost of miles and lounge access.

I suspect the reason is corporate travel policy. For people entitled to J travel, some companies will allow F if J isn't available, others would probably insist on Y.

I heard EK getting 6 more A380 will expecting to delivered in 2011. Right now, there is 2 more A380 is expected in body join and others 2 A380 is final assembly line. 1 A380 is on flightline. It should expected to delivered real soon and it will take a awhile until the entire A380 will accepted delivered in 2011.

I have more information for you and the entire 5 or 6 A380 will delivered in September through December 2011. So here it is:

September 2011: MSN 077- A6-EDP - EK # 16
October 2011: MSN 080- A6-EDQ - EK # 17
November 2011: 083 & 086- A6-EDR & A6-EDS - EK # 18 & 19
December 2011: MSN 090 - A6-EDT - EK # 20
February 2012: MSN 098 - A6-EDU - EK # 21
March 2012: MSN 101 - A6-EDV - EK # 22

Hopefully EK will continuation to accepted more A380 deliveries in 2011 & 2012.

EK dropping the A350-900 for the -1000....
 

Just read this article in Flightglobal.

Looks like the German government will take a bigger stake in EADS, which would mean it's in their interest for EK to get more slots. Why would they want to punish one of their best customers ?

ditto! it makes sense for the German Gov't to increase Emirates stakes in Stuttgart, and Berlin. We'll all have to wait until the next Bilateral between Germany and U.A.E. is forged.:p

Not to mention the UAE also has a stake in EADS. It's a win win situation.

. . . except the usual dynamics of LH being an even bigger client of the German state (and also a major Airbus customer) are still there.

MEX is among a list of seven "2nd wave" destinations planned for the Americas and should be operational by 2015. I don't think it will feature in the 2011/12 operating plan though.

Confirmed. Fares have remained the same, albeit switching from F to J. Return F or J fare is around 6500 AED before tax.

1st wave: JFK, IAH, YYZ, GRU, LAX, SFO
2nd wave: SEA, MIA, ORD, IAD, GIG, EZE, MEX (in no particular order)

Although i've heard BOS could make it into 2nd wave.

There are a few more for 3rd wave.
