My bad, never back tracked to see, was only drinking late morning coffee, reading the paper, and saw the article.
Just by interest where do I go to see where, and when the new aircraft are coming in. There hasn't been a 773ER delivery in a while, or am I wrong ? Also would like to know how many aircraft EK will recieve in 2011 axactly, and when ? 380 - 773ER - 777F, and if any chance for 748F ? |

What do you mean you have no idea since you already said you know that China has approved EK to fly 380 to PVG.
http://www.arabianbusiness.com/emirates-launch-a380-on-beijing-route-90154.html this article says Emirates will 100% start a380 flights to Beijing August 1, 2010. |

Which they did. I believe we're talking about Shanghai PVG now, which was supposed to start Jan 1, 2011

I expect this is temporary, pending approval for PVG. |

Unfortunately once the "plan" is out there, people assume it will happen. |
Hey everyone, im new to the forum. I am Cabin Crew on the Emirates A380. Adding to the rumors a number of routes are rumored: Munich in May? Kuala Lumpur (a friend of mine who works on the main fleet aircrafts 777's operated a KUL flight and had some people on board who had come to DXB for training on how the catering works on the 380. According to them KUL is ready just waiting.) Narita as early as September? The general rule for crew is we wait to see it in black and white on our roster before we believe anything. There is so much speculation with the 380. Hopefully we get some nice new routes. Regarding the US more routes should start on the main fleet but we all pray that the A380 does not get the routes. YYZ and JFK are horrific flights to work. The passengers profile is extremely demanding. While the layovers are nice you literally walk there. We heard about SFO but there was also a rumor we would operate it via somewhere else. In the past EK used to go to JFK via Germany. Also the 2nd Jeddah added this month has been removed from my roster.. Wonder if it is going at all now? Also at Emirates they say JED generates more income than 2 LHR flights. Thats why we operate it on this short sector. Personally im not a big fan of JED but would much rather that then BOM, DEL. But with only 3 coming this year who knows? I hope we get some more. |

MUC - with all the protests by LH etc I wonder if there are restrictions on this going live. Is EK limited to a certain number of flights, destinations, seats or aircraft size? KUL - They just subbed a 77W with a 330/340 which would indicate low demand. It's not a premium route so I highly doubt this one. NRT - Will the capacity be there by Sept? No deliveries for a while. I don't see EK stopping enroute to SFO - then for anyone not originating in DXB, the European carriers are quicker. And talk was of replacing the existing flight with a 380, not starting another one, otherwise they would already have a second 77W running. What's wrong with DEL and BOM? Those routes are entirely dependent on the bilateral talks so there's not even any point speculating. Oh and welcome to FT! |

Whats the hassle you get on DEL/BOM? Interested to know... |

Update to the 2011/12 operating plan:
Effective 1 January 2012 EK139/140 DXB-PRG-DXB upgrades from Daily A330-200 (2-class) to Daily B777-300 (3-class). First class now offered on the route. I believe this upgrade is to primarily support the very strong freight loads to/from PRG. Rgds Emirates777 |
Hi everyone thanks for the nice welcome.
Regarding MUC, KUL, NRT I read articles online that suggested these were the ones to start in 2011. On the A380 fleet we have been hearing for god knows how long that Kuala Lumpur-Melbourne is coming to us. I think everyone goes on about this one the most including some pilots. I think many people have the misconception that the A380 is always full but some are not even on key routes. For example once I did JFK with 152 the last 4 times full full full. JED 427 in economy there 105 on the way back. Beijing loads are around 200ish. Seoul is always very light this winter with 150-200ish on the way there and full on the return. I have no idea how they figure out the numbers. Having said that we are always generally full though. DEL/BOM are routes that everyone on the 380 are fearing will be announced. Yes they will probably come one day but hopefully not anytime soon. The India market is huge for EK. So are many others. But all of the ulr’s SFO, LAX, IAH, JFK, YYZ are full of people connecting from India. I think it will be very interesting to see how the change routes etc on the 380. BKK-HKG (which I love) is apparently going and being replaced with EK372. EK are very secretive. |
