Not only is it possible, but that's exactly what happens 99% of the time.

I don't think so as i have not heard anything new regarding India routes.

On a separate note, I believe discussions are ongoing for additional access into Northern Pakistan (ISB, LHE, PEW).

Ek777, any reason why the DXB-KUL-MEL EK406 is being moved from its usual 3am departure to 10am for the month of january?

"In July 2010, in an interview with Lebanon’s director general of Civil Aviation, Dr Hamdi Chaouk, it was confirmed that Beirut is to increase its capacity from six million passengers a year to 18 million with the construction of a new terminal and 23 new gates – taking the total to 46. Construction would begin on January 2011.

Dr Chaouk said that up to seven of these gates would be designed to take the Airbus A380. He mentioned that talks have been occurring with Emirates and Qatar on the possibility of using Beirut as a hub for flights to London."

Emirates777 can you please tell me if emirates is planning to fly dxb-bey-london-bey-dxb. this is a really potential route because many people from the gulf including me spend their summers in the moutains neighbouring beirut and go on a two week trip to london from there. (*note: there are alot of saudis emaraties kuwaities and qataries therefore there is demand for business and first classes.) and will emirates use the a380 on the dxb-bey-dxb route?
thank you!

I am not aware of any such plan and i think such a routing would be unlikely.

sad but true, if you want to go to london from Beirut, you'll likely have to transit back to dubai. "everything goes thru dubai on emirates, except the flights enroute to dubai (kul-dxb-kul, or sin-mel-sin, bkk-hkg-hkg-bkk, akl-mel-akl, those will stop over and collect pax (5th freedom rights) for onroute delivery.

I don't think he can do that. Just flying ME or BA nonstop from BEY-LHR is a easier way to do it. Because DXB is much longer times to spent in international transit lounge. This is not necessary for you at all. Just do easily way to flying ME or BA nonstop from BEY-LHR.

Apparently not. Because EK has already direct service LHR & LGW, too. I don't think ever EK is coming to STN. Because EK has already more tougher competitions against another carriers. Don't be sure EK is not considering to STN.

STN will be the next port of call in the London area once LHR & LGW are maxed to A380s on all their flights. I think a STN service is still over 5 years away, but i wouldn't rule it out altogether.

if the pax has a lot of kg's luggage, prefers the award winning service on ek, has gold skywards, they might prefer to fly ek-bey-dxb-lhr, if then yes, you are correct, on BA or ME bey-lhr would be the way to save time.

Hi Emirates 777, do you think that Emirates would look at ABZ, rather than a second daily from GLA. I realise that it would be cheaper to double daily from GLA as the infastructure is already in place.

They have recently announced the final go-ahead for the runway extension at ABZ, still not sure what size of plane will be able to land once the extension is complete.

Quite sure there is a sizeable number of passengers using GLA that originate from the ABZ area with the oil business.

Anyway just a selfish thought, as would make my world far easier.

Best Regards

A6-EDE is already back from YYZ. B777 substitutions were being done for ICN, however this has now reverted back to A380 ops.

What about the A380 to PVG?

Has it been approved yet?

Flight was supposed to start on JAN 01 - 2011.

January crew rosters supposedly were drawn up with A380 to PVG in mind.

What's happening?

Still no official announcement.

Still no confirmation through the online booking engine.

One A380 still blocked in YYZ, pulled from the BKK-HKG flts.

Looking to book PVG in January... still only A343 / B777.

Weren't EK supposed to finalize A380 planning b4 year-end?

What's up? What's the plan?

.

it will be announced on the day of the inaugural (01jan11)!

So as 2010 draws to a close, this is what appears to be discussed so far:

Fact -
- EK to start BSR
- EK to start GVA
- EK to start a regional destination with 4th daily to SIN

Speculation -
- the regional destination seems to be DPS
- GRU to go double daily
- EK will announce another european destination (hint: one tha has been in the offing for long)
- EK will announce new routes to south of equator (hint: to the least served continent. umm antartica excluded :D )

Happy new year and all good wishes......
