What I mean is that extended Russian Jewish families nowadays are often spread over three countries - Russia, Israel, and the US. And the easiest place for the extended family to meet up is in Israel because neither Russian nor US citizens need a visa to go to Israel.

German Wings has announced that it will cease its flights between Berlin and Israel, Israel Hayom reports. German Wings is part of the Lufthansa group.
The airline had to compete with Air Berlin, Easyjet, UP, and El Al on the Berlin-Tel Aviv route. Come March, Lufthansa passengers will have to fly between Tel Aviv and either Munich or Frankfurt.

Blue air Cyprus

Should make for interesting passenger combinations if their flights from Larnaca only have 3 possible destinations - Luton, Tel Aviv, and Teheran.

TUS Cyprus

Looks like travel between TLV and LCA is going to see few new airlines in 2016. With both Blue and now TUS planning on flying this route.

ANA flights to Tokyo from TLV (sort of)
http://www.globes.co.il/news/article...did=1001086495
ANA is now selling flights between TLV and Tokyo. Not direct flights but connecting flights with Lufthansa, El Al, and Brussels Airlines through 6 different European connection points. This is a sort of soft launch for ANA into the Israeli market. Presumably if there is enough demand, they will eventually convert it to a non-stop flight on ANA from TLV.

I'm surprised that this didn't happen sooner
Interesting that they codeshared with LY and not just *A (LH/SN). (Guessing they didn't chose other *A/LH group airlines because they want to ensure they're operating the long-haul.)
Why wouldn't you be able to?

The long-haul leg is NH which is fine. The first leg, to Europe, when operated by LH and SN should be fine as well, as all 3 are *A
