If the aircraft and crew are based in Israel, you'd expect the schedules to reflect SDV-PFO-SDV and HFA-PFO-HFA. So 594 can be the return leg of 591. If this is the case, then 593 is the return leg of 592, meaning the aircraft is based in PFO, which sounds weird.

Alternatively, it could be 591->592->593->594, but then 591 must be (four hours) earlier.

Direct flights to Japan?

SunD'or launches charter flights to NRT from September:
https://www.calcalist.co.il/local/ar...755813,00.html (Hebrew)

First flight will depart TLV September 13 at 1630 and Tokyo on the 14th at 13:00. The aircraft will have 270 seats. The article says that is JALis also interested in this route.

How do a couple of charter flights constitute a route? This has been done before.

During the time in which the HFA to PFO route operates, the schedules of the route change so that this will indeed be the routing.

i think it’s the first tone to Narita, I think the charters in the past were always to KIX

Virgin Atlantic

VS will launch TLV starting September 26th using an A330.

The daily flights will depart TLV at 7:50am so similar timing to BA. haven't seen any information about the departure times from LHR but assume that will be a red eye departing similar times to BA and LY's night flights.

According to TLV airport’s website the flight will land at 20:35 the previous evening, meaning it will depart LHR at around 13:30.

Thanks. I assumed considering the morning TLV departure it would fly from LHR overnight.

Where do you see this information by the way? Can't find it on there.

That is awful timing. If the plane is going to sit all night why not leave at 4:30pm so people can have meetings in London then fly to TLV? No better than the LCCs on timing .

Actually this allows shorter connections from the US, which is what, I assume, VS will be focused on out of TLV.

According to the Israeli newspaper The Marker, the schedule will be:

for or the summer season:
LHR 13:30- TLV 20:35
TLV 07:15- LHR 11:10

for the winter season:
LHR 16:00- TLV 23:00
TLV 06:00- LHR 10:00

Based on the article in Globes, (Virgin Atlantic launching Tel Aviv - London flights in Sep,) that too is my assumption: (bolding mine)

Because of the stiff competition from LCCs (not to mention the multiple daily BA/LY flights), they are likely trying to offer better connections and focusing on that.

I believe the 13:30 departure will only operate for the first month of operation, and then move permanently to 16:30 for both winter and summer, but no confirmation on that.
