True, but flights are still available until mid-October.

Per Airlineroute.net, in Aug-Sept 2016, Swiss will be using the 77W (777-300ER) on ZRH-TLV 3 times a week:

eff 28AUG16 Zurich – Tel Aviv 3 weekly (LX254/255 Day 1, LX256/257 Day 57 from ZRH, Day 16 from TLV)

If I understand that schedule correctly it's exactly backwards. How do they think they can fill a Friday night 777 from ZRH-TLV? Whoever is making these schedules doesn't seem to understand this market.

I often fly on this flight friday night. The flight is always full. It doesnt matter where in Europe you were - you can connect to this flight.
I wonder about the return from TLV on sunday morning.

Maybe it's full because of the low fares. As someone who lives in TLV and flies to Europe for business a couple times a month, I want flights that get me home Thursday night or Friday morning, so you'll never find me on this flight. If it was on Thursday night I'd be on it twice a month.

Tourists going to TLV for the weekend won't take it because they miss a weekend night. Religious people won't take this flight because it's over Shabbat and Israeli businesspeople won't take it. Amazing to hear it's usually full, maybe low yielding?

Perhaps the lack of competition on the route pushes up the fares for Shabbat. (Parenthetically, I never understood LX's relationship with LY codesharing on the same route.)

Likewise, there are Israelis who need to be in business meetings all day on Friday and find the late night service preferable over spending the night in Europe and not getting back home until mid-day on Saturday. Additionally, there are Europeans who can't leave work early on Friday but nonetheless wish to spend Saturday on holiday, visiting friends, etc. One thing is certain, LX would not operate the rotation if it was not profitable to do so.

They soon will carry more pax to TLV than LY. Sad to say that LY is letting TK eat their lunch so badly.

I wonder how much this actually affects LY. Those who need nonstop flights will stick with LY and those who prefer LY due to patriotic reasons will stay far away from TK.
This being said, TK's continual investment in TLV bodes well for Israeli-Turkish realations, despite all the rhetoric. Now we just need a *A lounge in TLV...

BA adding a 777 on the TLV route and brining back F

BA dropping their third (almost) daily flight BA166/167 but replacing the 164/165 A321 with a four class 777 starting S16 schedule (27/03).

So they'll be operating two daily 777s, one being a three class with no First and the other four class offering First.

Does the 4-class have less WT+ seats?

I have mixed feelings about this, on one hand we will finally get first class to TLV (other then Korean Air) but on the other hand I really liked the J cabin on the A321...
