I guess it's probably sad that it's my least favorite holiday meal. Everything just seems so boring to me, with the exception of some creative stuffing I've had. Although you named my favorite part of it, leftover turkey sandwiches, preferably with some leftover mashed potatoes and gravy on there too. Anyone want to join me in starting a new tradition of Thanksgiving duck or maybe quails?

As long as the wine is dry and isn't oxidised it should be fine. Any beer will do, but I tend to use a lighter beer like a lager etc. You probably want to avoid stouts and porters. Don't forget the whiskey or brandy.

I can! I think I have some awful craft stuff at the back of the fridge, but nothing aside from that. I only drink at pubs and restaurants. We rarely have alcohol in the house. Just did a 4 month lockdown and I didn't drink the entire time.

Sorry folks, I absolutely need turkey on Thanksgiving. Sounds kind of corny, but it’s a link to my childhood. Getting up early, watching Mom prep and cook the bird. Joining her as I got older…then after marriage, continuing the tradition myself. Mrs PhillyGold offers to help, but I enjoy preparing this meal by myself.
As mentioned earlier…the sandwiches the rest of the week are awesome!
Good rye bread. Turkey. Stuffing. Gravy. Cranberry sauce. Mayo.
Now I’m getting hungry!!!

Had some boneless short ribs that needed cooking, so they went on the pellet smoker. Not quite perfect - I should have wrapped them part way through, and they ended up a tiny bit dry - but very tasty nonetheless. 1 1/2 for dinner, the rest for leftovers.

We followed the recipe Woks of Life Mapo Tofu with a less oil, plus onion and other veggies. We like to grind the peppercorns with a mortar and pestle, then add them to the oil at the beginning of the cooking, leaving them in the dish. We like the tingle from this process.
