The frozen enchiladas look good! I know that restaurants smother enchiladas with sauce - my favorite taqueria has a similar burrito and I forgot the name for it. It’s possible that my spouse doesn’t like too much sauce. I have been to Trader Joe’s when the enchiladas are sold out so someone buys them. I just eat them because my spouse likes them.

Yes, obviously someone buys them but they don't fit my definition of enchiladas and it is easy to buy or make ones that do.
Turns out it is Margarita Monday

So,
Carne Asada with flour tortillas
Refried beans with cheese

mojada is the taqueria term for a burrito with sauce, just like enchiladas. My favorite taqueria (Cancun) has enchiladas - I got some for somebody in September and I still refused to get myself anything there that day. It’s severe temptation as I walk past it - I’ve had many evening and late night taqueria meals there during the past 4 years. Well up to 2019! I walked past there both today and last week. They’re next door to my old favorite concert venue where I missed seeing Lydia Lunch perform in feb 2020 because I had just returned from CHICAGO and I was tired. I had some great concert nights there in 2019, usually tied with Cancun. It’s really huge that I don’t even go to Cancun now.
If you want to go there--then just go there instead of just talking about walking past the restaurant--it sounds pretty silly. If you want to eat the food, then just do it.

Pappardelle pasta topped with mixed mushrooms, artichoke hearts, peas, and onions in a white wine reduction. With olive oil, cultured butter, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. Tasty and not too heavy.

Last night we broke in the new Weber with a couple of strip steaks, scalloped potatoes (in foil), and a veggie sauté on the stove because I didn't want to learn the side burner on the grill at the same time I was figuring out all the other features. I'm happy with the grill operation, and glad I didn't seem to make any noticeable mistakes in the 2 hours I spent assembling it last weekend.
Round 2 tonight, some Romanian sausages I picked up at Fresh Farms. Haven't ever had them so not sure what we'll have with them yet. Possibly some Lebanese pita, onion, and mustard. You can tell I was hungry when we go to the store if I end up with mystery sausage and a flatbread I've never bought before. I also grabbed a huge bag of shell-on roasted peanuts. I should not be allowed in that store before lunch. Oh, and I also had some mini sesame rolls stuffed with cheese for a snack. At least I restrained myself from cured meats, weird cheese, and smoked fish.
For chgoeditor, we went to the one on Golf for the first time as we were over in that area. Kind of right where Des Plaines, Glenview, and Niles come together. Good size, similar to the one on Touhy. Seafood area was smaller, bakery was slightly smaller. Otherwise pretty similar to the Touhy location. Some different items but probably not worth the extra mileage from your starting point.

most likely the Trader Joe’s chicken enchiladas tonight with guacamole & chips and a raw veggie platter. Still pondering zucchini for future platters.
I’m not doing any indoor dining until I’m vaccinated. It’s extremely unfun to eat tacos on the street in most parts of San Francisco. Plus it’s still expensive so it’s more fun to think about it. I’m also pretty sure that it’s less healthy than anything I’m cooking or prepping for my luncheon. Surely more sodium and sugar :-)
Yes many places have burritos without sauce and if I want sauce I ask for it wet. But by definition, enchiladas are covered in sauce.

Yep, we drove by Patel Bros. on the way home I believe. Never been in there but if you like it I suppose I should check it out. I think the others are nearby too, and agree both are good stops.

Once every several months, we have a popcorn for dinner night. I will be breaking out the Stir Crazy tonight - one of the great all-time small appliances. You just use it until you break it (or drop it, which I've done) or lose parts and then just buy another one. I'm still amazed that almost all the kernels pop, even with cheap popping corn,.

Having them tonight actually. They aren't like hot dogs. There's no casing, just ground meat (beef and pork I think) and seasoning shaped into a sausage. I don't recall the sign exactly, but think they may have been called mitetti or something like that.

It's our go-to for a lot of spices (crazy inexpensive) and bulk basmati rice, in particular. Plus their hot food counter is great.

Calibur cheeseburger carryout
assorted raw vegetables
Leftover linguine pesto (Tiberino brand - overall I’m underwhelmed but maybe pesto pasta is underwhelming for me)
mixed green salad
blood oranges
Have you ever gotten carryout tacos? They’re going to be nearly cold by the time one is home - no styrofoam allowed in my city. So I don’t know when I’ll get carryout and I’m not having a Carryout Burrito because that’s just one meat. I would want 2-3 tacos with lengua, carnitas, and cabeza (separate). I haven’t had cabeza taco in a very long time, like a year. Oh how I love to eat head tacos. Maybe I need to visit a Mexican grocery store - they should have head and tongue for sale.
how were the Romanian sausages tonight?
