Last night we broke in the new Weber with a couple of strip steaks, scalloped potatoes (in foil), and a veggie sauté on the stove because I didn't want to learn the side burner on the grill at the same time I was figuring out all the other features. I'm happy with the grill operation, and glad I didn't seem to make any noticeable mistakes in the 2 hours I spent assembling it last weekend.
Round 2 tonight, some Romanian sausages I picked up at Fresh Farms. Haven't ever had them so not sure what we'll have with them yet. Possibly some Lebanese pita, onion, and mustard. You can tell I was hungry when we go to the store if I end up with mystery sausage and a flatbread I've never bought before. I also grabbed a huge bag of shell-on roasted peanuts. I should not be allowed in that store before lunch. Oh, and I also had some mini sesame rolls stuffed with cheese for a snack. At least I restrained myself from cured meats, weird cheese, and smoked fish.
For chgoeditor, we went to the one on Golf for the first time as we were over in that area. Kind of right where Des Plaines, Glenview, and Niles come together. Good size, similar to the one on Touhy. Seafood area was smaller, bakery was slightly smaller. Otherwise pretty similar to the Touhy location. Some different items but probably not worth the extra mileage from your starting point.
