Steak here tonight too. Some mezze to start, and a nice red blend from Murietta's Well to drink.

Spinach sauted with bacon
New potatoes with garlic, lemon juice & zest, fresh parsley & fresh thyme
Grilled baby lamb chops marinated in olive oil, garlic, lemon zest & juice, balsamic, fresh rosemary.
I fell off the wagon to have wine and I am glad that I did....life is short.

Yay for wine! We all should enjoy what we want - I just rarely drink alcohol as it is so I dont drink wine at home. Last had wine at home when hosting my Momz group for 2019 cookie exchange.

Is that Kosher or Rock salt on the lamb and spinach?

I miss having lamb chops, but my wife has reduced her red meat intake to once a week, and she prefers to have a 1/4 lb. sirloin steak than anything else. I prefer not to cook separate types of meat as it means more clean-up.

It is Maldon Sea Salt which I love on everything. Yesterday I made peanut butter/chocolate chip cookies with Maldon salt sprinkled on top.
No way your wife would compromise on once a month lamb? I love steak but these are so flavorful. They are a treat which I don't even have once a month.

I'll have to try adding zucchini, onions, and peppers next time.

I have several green peppers that I need to slice today to freeze them.

No dinner for me tonight...lunch was big!
Yes, I left onion off as I just reacted to the original post that looked like such a familiar combo. Thanks for catching me on that.
Funny thing though, even though that pizza is on nearly every tavern and takeout menu, I never order it. Love the sausage/mushroom/onion combo and I love green peppers, but for some reason I don't want all 4 together on my pizza. My memory had faded (old age I suppose) and we ordered one recently from Barnaby's. The green pepper overpowered everything else.

Barnaby's still exists????

When I was a kid growing up on the North Shore, there used to be one in Northbrook on Skokie Blvd. - I have no idea if it's even still there. That was always a treat.

Life is not worth living without lamb chops - and red wine and Maldon Salt (not together) are not far behind.

We are kindred souls.
Actually...I read somewhere long ago that a grain or two of salt (kosher) in a glass of cheap red wine makes it taste better. I tried it and maybe noticed a tiny difference or maybe it was the power of suggestion.

There was one on Touhy too. I just googled it - temporarily closed. I used to love Barnaby's (and still would if there was one nearby).

There was another one on Ridge in W. Rogers Park, too - I don't think I've ever eaten in that one, though.

I have a sensitivity to bell pepper so none for me but it's Mr. CE's favorite pizza. Though he's still looking for a favorite spot to deliver it in Rogers Park. We've tried JP Alberto's a couple times and struck out. We love Union but they don't deliver and R Public House is now only doing pizza Thursday-Sunday. So suggestions are welcome.
