We were at the Oak Brook store. I've only been at the original before last night. It's been a couple years and I forgot how wonderfully tender and flavorful their steaks are. Definitely still one of the best steak frites (mine with Roquefort sauce) I've ever had. Unfortunately, there's not one nearby our house, but there are a few French bistro places that do an OK job.

Tonight we're doing Charlie Bird's Farro Salad with pan roasted King Salmon delivered from Sitka Salmonshares yesterday. The salad recipe is a fav, and everyone who tries it loves it. It's a very flavorful farro in a lemon-parmesan dressing with cherry tomatoes, radishes, pistachios, arugula, basil and mint. (My basil and mint have turned into bushes, so a recipe that calls for a couple cups of herbs makes me happy.) You can find the recipe in the NYTs or in the cookbook Ina Garten released a couple years ago. Versions of it appear elsewhere online, but take my recommendation and use basil-mint-arugula. Some recipes suggest parsley.

That is a good recipe .
another favorite herb combo of mine is Basil/mint/cilantro. Lucky you...i don't have bushes of anything growing ...i need to buy some basil to make pesto to freeze .
at a friends house last night i had a delicious pea pesto...frozen peas, Parmesan, garlic and olive oil...it was bright green and made a great dip but she puts it on chicken too.

Poached salmon; optional dill sauce (2% Fage, stone mustard, lemon juice, and dill)
roasted honey/butter carrots
baked potatoes (assd toppings)
raw radish / celery / cucumber

I forgot about the roasted beets so just put them in the fridge. Oops.

Pea pesto sounds great! I have been saying this for weeks, but this weekend I really need to make and freeze some pestos.

yes...on my list too. I was always so happy when all i had to do at the last minute was pull out some frozen pesto for dinner ...on pasta or fish or chicken . Takes no time to defrost . I finally got more basil yesterday so no excuse .

Grilled shrimp over a cold salad made with Trader Joe's Harvest Grains. I didn't take a close look at the veggies and dressing my wife used in the salad, but just taste tested and it's delicious. The shrimp will be my contribution this evening.
