My understanding is that calabacitas is a medley of sauteed vegetables, including, primarily zucchini and/or other squashes, with some other vegetables. I normally wouldn't question you, but I just was offered it as a choice of a side ("calabacitas or refried beans") at a Mexican restaurant a few days ago and I asked what it was.

Margherita pizza at Extra Virgin (heehee) in Almaty, Kazakhstan for about 4 USD - the crust was great, but I would have enjoyed it more if the cheese and sauce were of better quality

We are both correct.

Mexican zucchini, or calabacita, is a type of summer squash known for its sweeter flavor, firmer flesh, and lighter, often speckled, skin. It differs from the darker, more widely available Italian zucchini, which tends to have a more watery texture. Calabacita is a core ingredient in a traditional Mexican dish of the same name, which is often prepared with corn, chiles, onion, and tomatoes.

One of my welcome gifts at the Ritz-Carlton Almaty was a voucher for a free pizza and beer! I abstained from the beer, but the bresaola pizza was a treat!

That sounds delicious! $1.60 is a steal considering how much burritos cost now. I remember those $6-7 days toofeels like forever ago!

I probably should have clarified that the Veuve Rose (as well as stemware and ice bucket) made the trip with me. Nowadays whenever I road trip I have a YETI Roadster stocked with small Fiji and San Pellegrino/Perrier bottles for on the road as well as the bigger glass San Pellegrino bottles and a bottle of whatever Champagne I will be drinking that evening so no pesky waiting for Champagne and mineral water to chill. Really hits the spot after 6+ hours on the road

Truffle pizza at Honey Honey in Almaty - needed more flavor and the bottom of the crust was odd
