Had lunch at the Coast Plaza Hotel with my legal manager here in Calgary NE. Always an excellent buffet spread.

Pulled pork, homemade hush puppies, and broccoli slaw. Pork butt has been in the smoker for 16 hours. Coming out soon at 203 degrees.

Forced myself to actually cook dinner since I went out for lunch. Did a little meat sauce with chorizo, spices and marinara and some pasta. Pretty good if I do say so myself ^

Big batch that. ^

Not very evenly divided though. For example number 3 from the left has a much smaller portion than number 7.

Lovely!

Escousez moirez, but are the table tiles matching the floor tiles? If so we have exactly the same!! A bit of Med terracotta in grey Britland.

6 o'clock is the biggest. Hope you have a Zoji for the pilau.

Batch making curries and pasta source is what sensible people do!^

Great. I thought it was a banquet for all your friends and family.

Neatly organized, or was that set up for the drooling picture?

I used to do exactly the same with my kids when they were babies.
Not curry, obviously but on a Sunday morning before I ventured to the pub I'd prep dinner and at the same time make a batch of chicken/fish, spuds and five veg blended up with a smidgeon of butter added and freeze them.
Not only did it save a lot of work for Mrs Showbizguru when I was away during the week and gave her a Sunday morning lie-in but ensured the brood never ate a jar of baby food in the lives.
I'd like to say it also ensured more tolerable nappies/diapers but sadly not.

The meat was juicy melt-in-your-mouth. Pic was taken a couple hours after dinner at room temp.

Just got back from a late night Waffle House run!

Chocolate Chip Waffle, Bacon and a Vanilla Diet Coke

What else do you do after a grueling 12 hour shift?

Start with substituting runny eggs and hashbrowns for the waffle.
