I had an unplanned nap yesterday evening and didn’t feel like cooking the steak I’d taken out of the fridge, so I had tomatoes and habañero cheddar with a bialy for dinner. Breakfast was the filet mignon still on the counter this morning. I over-seared the first side, so it was a tad overcooked, but still delicious.
All from my Friday Imperfect Foods box, except the bialy. This was the first time I ordered filet mignon; ime not regularly available. It was $13.99 for 10 ozs, grass fed and finished. What’s a normal price? https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2679ea03f.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...a2eb16947.jpeg |

My oldest went to a Mexican border town for a couple of root canals and crowns.
She brought me back some Mexican bread, and a two liter bottle of Mexican Coke. |

I made overnight fridge oatmeal for tomorrow (and at least 3 more breakfasts) using coconut milk yogurt and unsweetened coconut milk. I will try adding bananas and cinnamon to sweeten it up and add some flavor before I dig in.
Day 2 I added raspberries and a squirt of maple syrup. Still not sweet enough. I have enough for two more days of experimentation. |

Day 1 bananas and peanut butter. Very difficult mixing peanut butter into cold oatmeal. Not sweet enough.

For brekkie, I had cranberry turkey burgers and mixed greens.

If you are adding peanut butter for the flavor, try powdered peanut butter. It is higher in protein and very low in fat and would mix in well. Why don't you want to heat the oatmeal to mix stuff in? Skippy Super Chunk is sweetened and would work (at room temp).

Thanks for the info. At $19.99/lb, Costco is $12.50 per 10 ozs and mine was $13.99 10 ozs grass fed.
i Would like a steak and need to wait a week or longer as my spouse & child both want less red meat. But boy do I love those Costco steaks! |
