I’m positive that your mango was so much better than mine :-)

I passed on the Japanese breakfast set this morning which was with grilled salmon (wife & kids had it), and instead ordered feta cheese omelette with accompaniments!

Dinner was uneventful with vegetable minestrone soup with basil pesto and croutons, Veal Piccata on glazed carrot and balsamic jus & Tiramisu cake. Lunch was great with grilled eggplants with basil Lasagna with beef ragout bechamel and Parmesan, Vanilla Bocconotti:

This was absolutely delicious. The salad was way too hot and I love chilli, but the chicken was sublime. And it comes out with that pretty yellow from the turmeric. A really easy marinade and definitely takes me back to Thai street vendors.

Both recipes look very good. Your comment about the chili reminded me of when I took a cooking class in Thailand. We made perhaps 5-6 dishes and then ate them. Delicious. They gave us the recipes to bring home. A couple months later I had maybe a 3rd or 4th date with someone and suggested we try cooking a few of the recipes. Almost everything was so incredibly spicy, and the soup was so hot it was inedible...and I love spicy food. Bottom line, I ruined a dinner date, but am now married to her anyway :).

The hard part for me is getting cilantro roots - even the farmers market usually has cut them off :(
Ahh....too hot - on the street in Thailand they usually ask if you want 1, 2 or 3 chilis as they make your som tum;)
