I bet everyone is too busy chomping turkeys to post a few piccies of their Thanksgiving meals ......... :(
|
A random clumping for "today's" meals:
SQ SIN-IST; an apple crisp Nature's Valley granola bar (x2), then (second meal of the flight) eggs with baked beans and peppered beef sausage. Fruit, and orange juice. IST market; simit, and grape/peach juice. Otogar (bus terminus), Istanbul; chicken döner, ayran. Edirne; beef köfte sandwich, pickled peppers. Also, peynir halva (a type of sweet cheese dessert, yellow and mushy/stringy, I reckoned) |
Envious. I could do with a touch of Istanbul.
Pitta .... meat .... flat leaf parsley and onion ...what else is there? :) |
Today I had cheesy scrambled egg on toast for lunch then for dinner a rather odd mixture of deep fried langoustine in a beer batter accompanied by grated carrot with olive oil/lemon juice and buttery potato mash. The wife being a fussy one made something completely different.

Prime rib with mashed potatoes. This is from a chain restaurant in YVR called Milestone's. Normally I wouldn't recommend a large chain but nobody local can touch the quality of the PR served here.

Boiling the turkey carcass for creamed turkey, which I freeze and later we have a couple of meals of creamed turkey on biscuits with mashed potatoes or, my favorite, cheese souffles with creamed turkey! The house smells like Thanksgiving all over again. :)

Promise you'll make soup with the bones..... you well know it's magical qualities ...
|
Chorizos, to pair with that Malbec (hopefully)!
|
I know this is boring ... but I made some bread with einkorn and spelt flour today and I had that with mushroom soup for supper.
It's interesting to try and work out what earlier breads might have tasted like. |
Xiaolongbaos, 3 dozen in a seating...not much since!
