Dinner at one of my favorite local places here in Durham, NC, an Afghani restaurant called Bread and Kabob. I had two kabobs (one chicken, one lamb) with rice, salad, bread and cucumber and hot sauce. I just wish the restaurant had a liquor license because this would have gone so well with beer.

Went back today (can't get enough!) and this time had a lamb kabob and a beef kabob. The beef > the chicken so I think I'll make this my new go to order.

Location Deepest Kent, UK (no snow yet :())
Meal Supper Home made pizza (25% wholemeal, 50% strong white, 25% semolina), home made tomato/basil (with half a garlic clove and a dash of Unami!!!) sauce. Mozzarella/Cheddar mix, drizzle of light olive oil. Toppings to taste. Me: Italian Salami w/Fennel (Waitrose's finest), dried chopped chilli seeds, blanched Spinach. MsAdey: Anchovies, goats cheese (not sure of variety), blanched Spinach. Washed down with... me: the last few bottles of Bud Lite (my importer is temp. out of stock ). MsAdey: A very nice Chianti from Castellare. Adey [aside:After sampling a few varieties of this wine producer on holiday in Italy (all the labels have one bird or another illustrated on them), we managed to track down the vineyard. As we had driven to Italy, we were able to load up the car with a mixed case. All very nice, we picked a selection ranging from ~20Euro/bottle (this one) to over 60 Euro/bottle - we've laid those for a while). will try and add image of the wine label |
The wife and I had drinks and tapas at a new restaurant in Halifax, NS called Tempo.
Between us we split three tapas plates consisting of: Mini TEMPOra box (cauliflower, broccoli, beans, sweet potatoes, zucchini, spicy, sweet, lime) Pork belly fritter (with bacon jam, smoked pineapple & basil chutney) Fried Dough (sausage, pancetta, smoked mozzarella, smoked tomato sauce, olives) Verdict was that all three were very mediocre. |

Meanwhile, today: Breakfast: toast and cereal (Apple Cinnamon Cherrios) Lunch: Angel hair pasta with tomato sauce, tomatoes and bruchetta chicken. Tomorrow is going to be a steak cookout with my Dad! |

Meanwhile, today: Breakfast: toast and cereal (Apple Cinnamon Cherrios) Lunch: Angel hair pasta with tomato sauce, tomatoes and bruchetta chicken. Tomorrow is going to be a steak cookout with my Dad! Today we had some bbq'd Welsh lamb shoulder chops with jackets and salad. This evening some home baked baguettes with ham ... We have some fish being delivered in a few hours so assuming he gets through the snow ..... and so soon "too bed"! |
Crappy microwaved lunch food. However! A good friend of mine from London sent me a care package of candy so I had a lunch dessert of a Crunchie bar, one of my favorites and hard to find in the United States.

Now we just do it for fun or if either of us needs to blow off some steam. 10 spicy bbq wings and 4 pints of various beers. They have about 20+ on tap and another 100+ on bottle. |

Popped over to France this morning and picked up a kilo of fresh scallops and pan fried them in butter using this recipe.
http://www.thehungrymouse.com/2009/0...-sea-scallops/ Oh man, what a meal, paired with a nice Riesling. Good as any I've had in a restaurant |
