Okay. What am I missing here. There is a simple solution. If you notice the lettering on the Breezeway sign it is not the largest in the world. Why not a sign with LARGE lettering saying something like "MEDALLION/SKYTEAM ELITE MEMBERS ONLY. BE PREPARED TO SHOW STATUS CARD". I mean almost obnoxiously large letters. The GAs have enough to do without having to police the Breezeway line.

FWIW, the 'Breezeway' concept doesn't work at any airline. I've been with CO for years - they were the first airline I flew that started such a concept...seems after they started I noticed that many others picked it up. It's never worked for them and I see this and such efforts as huge wastes of money (signage, carpets, etc). One of the main reasons it doesn;t work (besides casual travelers ignoring it) is that there still is only one GA taking the BPs at the gate - it's difficult for them and extremely annoying for custoemrs in the non-Breezway line if the GA keeps stopping the regular line to go to the stroling up Breezeway customer. I find they are not apt to do this and I don't blame them in a way (think flight crews cutting through security lines). IMO, they should just drop it period. Board by zone - if you miss the Zone 1 call then you just got to wait in line...not really that big of a deal

I had 2 flights, one in ATL, one in PSN last week where a "seasoned" pax camped out in the BW line about 30 minutes before boarding. One reading a book, one chatting up the GAs. It was obvious they had done this many times as they knew all the staff.
Both times, they didn't wait for the boarding call but knew the signs when boarding was about to be called and jumped up to the GA before anyone else knew what was going on. I hadn't flown in a couple of months so I was curious as to how BW was working these days.
I thought they had previously announced they would board Zone 1 through general, then BW. Ergo, I (BW and Zone 1 on BP) lined up in the general boarding line. In PNS, the guy camped out in the BW line managed to schlep ALL THREE of his carry on bags into MY overhead bin, which was the point of this exercise I'm sure, and sat 2 rows behind me in F.

I hate sitting on the plane waiting for people to board, even in FC, just me, I always get on last, even with PM Status for years. I hardly ever use the breezeway.

Do you typically have carry-ons that need to go in the overhead bin? Seems like boarding past your zone (even in first) these days means you'll likely not have any overhead space left for you luggage.

Ill check it on if I feel like it, i bring a backpack with the lap top so i can put it under the seat. I always seem to find some space for my small luggage, roll-on.
I just hate sitting there waiting for everyone to board while on the plane, recycled germ filled air. LOL

Breezeway Broading
Does anyone else seem to think that the Breezeway boarding isn't working? If you are PM/GM/SM you have "Breezeway" printed on your bp so why do they still call Zone 1 then wait and Zone 2 and so forth. I think how it should work is that the Breezeway is only available after zone 3 has boarded. That way if you are running late due a tight connection you don't have to wait in a boarding line.
