This is how I understood it. I recently flew DL for the first time since Breezeway was introduced and I have to say I was thoroughly confused.

As an elite, I thought I could use Breezeway at any time (it doesn't say otherwise on the boarding pass and neither did anyone else) but it turns out I can only use it after Zone 1 has boarded through the general line. Where's the sense in that? After being told off twice for using Breezeway even though I had a Breezeway boarding pass, I gave up and used the general line. If I had been sent to the Breezeway line after that I think I would have flipped!

Correct!

On the bright side, Breezeway will never be as maddening...as totally, bafflingly insane...as KLM's ideas on "priority boarding"

I hate to say this, but maybe DL needs to learn a lesson from TSA.

I mean...there is no question in anybody's mind about the expected behavior in those TSA lines...

Shoes off, laptop out, quart size baggie ready for inspection sir..!!

I must say that I've used the breezeway many times without a hiccup (even with Mrs. doodiedan who holds no status). I typically stay in the CRC until zone 3 or 4 and head straight to the breezeway line and stand there until they take my BP. It's normally within 1-2 passengers from when I arrive at the GA.

Just my 2 cents!

None of the above. The Breezeway line was much shorter than the usual line, so even going to the end of it meant that they'll still boarded ahead of most of the pax in the regular line.

I find that the Breezeway generally works quite well, and I really like the fact that I can leave boarding till later and not have to wait on line.

Breezeway Boarding on my boarding pass

On Monday I flew from CVG to LAS and i noticed my ticket said "breezeway" on it. I am about to reach SM status, but my calculations dont put me there for another 2 trips, assuming you only count MQM miles from January 1. Now I was in an exit row on a 757-200, but i have been before and wasn't breezeway or zone 1. Does "breezeway" mean I have somehow become medallion and not aware of it?

Returning from SFO the other day, breezeway was filled with people. One man was from Zone 5! It was difficult for people to board for F.

Too many people boarding via the breezeway.

What's the point of giving Breezeway "privileges" to non-medallions/non-F cabin pax just for being seated in the exit row or bulkhead row? Doesn't make any sense to me. Unless the computer assumes that people seated in premium seats are actually Medallions...
