!!!! Really? I see folks get the condescending "I'm sorry that's a 7, not a 1" routine on several occasions.

Here is another update. The other day I was going on a flight from ATL to OMA (Connection Carrier Flight) The GA called for Zone 1, and Medallion PAX's.
Now of-course, the general boarding line was filled at this point with non-medallions and zone 3 + pax's. I went around them to the Breezeway and handed my BP to the GA when a Zone 3 Pax's tried to push me out of the way to get ahead. The GA didn't want a fight, so she took his BP first. Not to be elitist, but what is wrong with these people?
Also, another complaint about Regional Carrier flights is that they always block the bulkheads for the gate and the CRC can't open them. This time they fillled them with a bunch of kids, ughh.....

Can someone tell me why you all care so much about getting on the plane first?
The only time I care to get on the plane before everyone else is when the flight is full and overhead space is limited.
Most of the time, I'd just as soon wait and get on the plane dead last:
- I don't have to stand on the plane cramped in the aisle as long waiting for people sitting in the first few rows that boarded before everyone else to find a place for their things and sit down
- I don't have to spend as much time sitting in an airplane seat when I can be stretched out or walking around near the gate
- I have more time to grab a quick snack or drink to bring on the flight
- If I'm working on my laptop by the gate, I can get more done in those extra few minutes, since I can't use my laptop once I get on the plane until we get in the air anyway
Am I the only one without a "I got on before you" ego?
Edit: (I should add, that if they are looking to give some incentives to bump people, you won't get it if you've already boarded. Just another reason for my list.)

I like to get on early so I can take my aisle seat.
That way, I can be in position so the fellow still wearing his backpack smacks me in the head when he turns to get into the seat across the aisle.
"I'm sorry... is my face getting in the way of your backpack?"

I've been on flights where the bins fill up amazingly fast. Especially if there's been quite a few special-assistance people that have boarded ahead of elites. I just don't want to get caught with having to put my baggage at the very back of the plane while I'm towards the front, or have to gate check it. I'd much rather board early, get my crap in an overhead bin, and be done with it.

Uh, because with the severe reduction in schedules, all of my flights have been full. Overhead space is almost full halfway through boarding, passengers having to gate check, have seen luggage from coach in first and way far away from seat.

I don't have a get on board first mentality. Unfortunately, because everyone nowadays feels the need to bring rollaboards which tend to exceed the allowable size but are allowed on anyway...it becomes necessary to get on early so I can try to stuff my backpack somewhere. I wish Delta would enforce carryon size rules...

When on a RJ and I have to valet check my carryon anyway I will try to be the last on. Those planes are uncomfortable enough, don't want to spend more time in the thing than absolutely necessary.

True. On MD88's when assigned in row 10, the bulkhead behind FC, I often have Zone 1. When my non-status GF (now ex....that's a whole different story) and I traveled, she also got Zone 1 in row 10.

Totally agree. Go back to the regular zone boarding... PLEASE!
The ONLY people that this ridiculous system benefits are the very very very few CRC members that like to be able to just board whenever they want and get that last drop of free alcohol in their system before boarding. Please, not worth the hassle.
