I asked for ORC via email. Telling them that I rather have ORC than credit for trip in vain. Will see what happens.

Will answer my own question: got a response 3 days later and it was not sufficient to my original routing. Called and got someone who was trying to refund me.....I stated I don't want a refund. HUACA finally got someone who understood and I should be receiving my MQMs in a few days apparently.

how far back can you request ORC? I was just reviewing my 2016 trips and noticed that I had a EWR-ATL-MEM (1246 MQM) in January 2016 that was rerouted to HPN-DTW-MEM (1116 MQM) due to IROPS. 130 MQMs won't make or break me this year but who knows for next year.

Can I ask a question here of the ORC experts? I was on Flight 733 DTW-LAX today 12/26 which was diverted into DEN because of a mechanical problem with the plane. DL had no other flights available and I finally gave up on any chance of the original flight getting out and took a United flight back to LAX, which I had booked as a backup as soon as the pilot announced the diversion. (It's currently been over 8 hours since landing and the DL plane is still in Denver!)
The rep I spoke with tonight said Delta could process a partial refund, but she didn't know how much it would be since Delta flew me part of the way to LA -- odd, seems sort of like a full refund is in order for all the headache. But even odder, she said that if I requested a refund, I would have a deduction of MQM and Skymiles since my flight would be reset as DTW-DEN. MQD maybe I can understand, but MQM? I got on a plane in Detroit and the reason I didn't make it to LAX on DL was their responsibility, not mine.
Anyone ever heard of this refund vs. miles forced choice?
By the way, very happy to have arrived safe and sound in LA, which is far more important than anything miles-related. Thx.

Had a mileage run booked for PHX - ATL - DAL - ATL - PHX for tomorrow, and one of the flights was canceled due to the storms in ATL.
Phone agent refunded because none of the alternative work for me due to other work travel.
Do I have a case for ORC or would I have to fly one or more of the segments?
Not a big deal because last minute work travel has me not needing the MQM, but it's a decent chunk to add to rollover if I can get the credit.

EITHER a cash refund OR the miles for ORC ... but not both

Had MX issue a couple of weeks ago, got switched from a DTW routing to an ATL routing, sent in ORC request via twitter (which has worked in the past), agent says no prob, I've sent it to skymiles team.
Two weeks go by with no response, skymiles still shows the flown credit instead of the ORC.
I send another twitter DM, next agent tells me "I see your ticket and it was credited" and I'm like "yeah I see it's credited but it's credited as flown, not as originally ticketed." Then they say "you can only receive credit for the flights you have traveled. Our system doesn't allow us to issue credit on the original routing."
two minutes on the phone and the issue is fixed.

I recently purchased a AM marketed trip in J on DL for April. I just noticed that AM cancelled one of the flights (reduced frequency, I think) and my itinerary on dl.com. I think I need to call Delta to get the itinerary fixed.
Am I correct that ORC is not a possibility in this scenario?
