I also had a similar error in my favor. My accelerator bonus is 75.34%. Am I missing something or is this an error from Delta?

Previous poster got a roughly 75.32% bonus. So the overage amount seems fairly close in both cases, and would appear to be a consistent Delta error.

I browsed through the entire thread but didn't see this exact scenario- If I missed the answer in another post sorry for the repost.

If I use my E Credit Voucher as payment toward my ticket (1st class ticket or Comfort Plus) will I get the MQM's and bonus as if I paid for the entire ticket?

thanks for any insight.

I’ve practically lived this year off my ~$20K in E-Credits from cancelled flights last year. I’ve received full credit / MQMs / Bonuses on them all.

On a bright note, I hit DM today on an ATL>LAX late last night. July is the longest it has taken me since I first reached DM.

I greatly dislike the MQS boosts. They dilute my $/segment — although my 360 prospects are basically non-existent.

Woohoo!

EDIT: I really miss Davetravels. I’m glad I had a chance to spend some time with him in Pittsburgh. Remember him fondly. Very fondly.

After 2 years now of achieving the lowly but appreciated Gold medallion status, I'm looking at what it will take to get there for 2022.

As of now, I have 26,709 MQM and just $913 MQD.
I do have the AMEX Platinum, but it's not likely I'll spend $25k before year end.

What is the best way to determine the most efficient path to get the required MQM and MQD to keep Gold status for next year?

My home base airport currently is RDU. I believe the 75% bonus for Comfort+ class tickets make that the best bargain going currently, but since it might be easier to get miles than dollars right now, would I be better off with Delta One or First Class?
Should I be looking solely for international flights?

I can't seem to find a great tool online that can estimate MQM from a given booking. If you have one that you really like and are willing to share, it would be greatly appreciated.

DL Vacations packages can generate more base MQDs than spend due to being based on distance and are promo eligible. Packages w/hotel are available from around $800 in C+ for RDU-ANC/FAI and can generate around 2800 MQDs and 14K MQMs with promo bonus.

Prices are pretty high for summer travel. Fares in Sep/Oct are cheaper. I just used Google Flights calendar view to find cheaper 1-night stay flights and then used those dates with DL Vacations site. You can leave destination blank to show map view, but I suspect Alaska destinations will probably yield most value.

I’ve found a few DL VACATIONS (flt + hotel) deals, where the package was cheaper than just booking the flight. If you are really using the hotel it is an even better “deal:.

Doesn’t DL Vacations require a minimum of 2 night hotel booking?
For a few recent DL Vacation packages (my actual trip was 4 nights) choosing 3 hotel nights priced cheaper than 2. {I was not using their hotels—i had nights comped from casino offers in LAS.]

and then each segment is multiplied by its applicable accelerator bonus, which is added to total MQDs
I observed something interesting about this on my latest trip. I purchased a simple domestic RT in FC where the fare on the outbound direction was considerably higher than for the return, J versus I class. After I flew the outbound, stuff posted as if I had taken a OW trip, with most of my expected MQDs. Then after I flew the return and it posted, DL lowered the MQDs I had received for the outbound so that the total MQDs for the ticket were divided among the segments proportionate to distance, with a bit of rounding to give me one less MQD for the final segment. MQMs were correct and indeed I got 200% for J and 150% for I.

I'm not sure what you mean by most efficient. Least time expenditure for you?

You have about 15% of the MQDs needed for GM and a bit over 50% of the MQMs. If you buy premium cabin fare tickets, you need to give DL about $2900 to meet the $6000 MQD requirement: (6000-913)/1.75 = 2907.

If you want to go to Alaska for a few days, this could be a fun way to earn a lot of MQMs from domestic travel, but hotel and rental car prices are high if you can even get a reservation. The schedules to Alaska aren't good for "pure" mileage runs.

Otherwise you could consider a couple out and back trips to the west coast, perhaps routed with the connections that give you more MQMs, especially since any extra MQMs will rollover assuming you at least get to the $3000 MQD requirement for FO. You can avoid needing to pay for a hotel if you're willing to do an overnight redeye on the return.

I'd avoid international and Hawaii because of the constantly changing testing etc. requirements.

No, it priced just fine with a single hotel night for above. Perhaps you were checking international destinations with an overnight flight where you would need at least a 2-day trip to get one night at a hotel. You can also price with a rental car instead of hotel, but it was not much less with a rental car for above.

I think it may vary by destination? ISTR when I booked Australia originally during the 2cpm promo (which ended up cancelled b/c of COVID) there was a 4-night minimum. Promos may have their own requirements too.

I was scrolling through the posts and didn't see anything related to a question I have. If I missed it I apologize. According to the accelerator web page,
  • Round-trip purchased in Main Cabin, with padi upgrade to First Class with miles qualifies for 1.75% MQM
  • Example: MQMs: 2,284 base MQMs for flown cabin x 1.75 = 3,997 Total Earned MQMs
Should an upgrade using upgrade certificates qualify for the same 1.75% bonus? It looks like if I were to use miles to upgrade I get the bonus MQM but I'm finding that isn't the case. I used an upgrade certificate on a recent flight for one segment (main cabin) that upgraded me into FC. For that one segment, even thought the flown cabin was FC, I only received the 50% additional miles and not 75%.

Is it only upgrades with miles that count? Just curious since the examples DL uses on that page indicates cabin flown. Thanks for your responses.
