In addition to B1-B7, Delta was using B18 today, apparently a common use gate but with Southwest boarding paraphernalia.
My bus gate flight boarded customers at D-45. Took about 15 minutes to get from the gate to the plane. A few photos below are from before the bus driver told me taking photos on the airfield is not allowed.
The bus operation is going to be big, assuming travel recovers decently before more gates are finished in 2024. A ton of hard stands have been set up complete with construction trailers out in front of the old C and F concourses. Two of the bus boarding areas are common use. United was boarding ERJs by bus today. At least the misery will be shared between airlines the next few years.

Can't wait to see how that operation looks when the whole place is covered in snow...
Also, what regulation states photos from the airfield are not permitted? I'm not familiar with that one...

The bus gate waiting areas are at the east end of the B concourse. They aren't on the terminal map in the DL app but are near B19 and B22. Once you "board," you go down a long ramp that's outside but covered. Then outside outside before going into another covered walkway. Then outside again onto a bus. Bus drops you off outside near plane and you go up a ramp onto the plane.

Anyone who says you're not allowed to take photographs should be fired and blacklisted from government employment for life.

Not sure for civilian airfields, but military airfields you certainly can't and if caught will likely have security forces on you pretty quickly. Not sure why a civilian airfield, other than if someone is snooping around planes, would restrict it; there's certainly a lot of plane spotting out and around airports.

At JFK, I have taken lots of photos after getting off the bus and being surrounded by many DL aircraft and no one has ever told me anything

Sounds like the new SLC was briefly evacuated today due to a fire alarm.
