Operational glitch is that a glitch, a seldom error. This seem very re-occurring and since DL is getting more money out of it, I am sure they are not in a hurry to fix the issue and just wait until T-72 or something to "notify" customers, when it's way too late to make alternative arrangements, so many people just take the hit because their work/travel schedule can't afford drastic changes.

I am not sure how any of you can defend DL in this situation.
On my flight, my coworker was notified about 5 days in advance, so they knew for at least that long. Probably longer.

Wondering if there is a much larger footwell in the bulkhead? Also anyone know how much noise to expect in those seats? I'd imagine 1D would get most of it as the Galley is on that side.

Thanks!
I just flew in 2B last night from ATL-LAX. I don't have any other seat to compare it to on the refurbished 777, but it had a huge footwell as it was a bulkhead seat as well. I'm 6'6 with a medium more athletic frame, with size 13 feet and had no trouble sleeping fully flat without bending my knees. The suite felt like a dream compared to the 764 I was just on in 3A from Madrid. It's also a huge improvement over the previous seating.

1A as viewed from 2B.

2B viewed from above.

Some more pics that I hope fellow users find useful. I actually did take one with the footwell.

Shoulder strap is detachable.

Footwell in 2b. 6'6 with size 13 sneakers.

Seat controls.

2 power ports along with usb ports.

Tasteful center partition.

Suite door fully closed. I couldn't actually open it back myself withoit fear of breaking it, so had to have flight attendant open it for me. Notice the secondary seat controls below the tray.

Thanks for the report and pictures, particularly of the footwell. We are scheduled for our first D1 Suites experience on ATL-JNB next year. I currently have us in seats 2B/C and was wondering whether bulkhead was a good choice on this aircraft. Looks like those are good options.

Wait, yours fully closed? Is this a new development?

Yes, they seem to be great seats. I was not bothered by noise from the galley, but then again I can sleep through pretty much anything without being bothered.

As this was my first time in a refurbished 777 in D1, I gave it a shot and it closed. I'm not sure if it was supposed to, but it remained closed until final approach into LAX, probably for a good 3 hrs.

The only routes that are guaranteed as an Upgraded B777-200LR's are the following legs:
SYD-LAX-ATL-LAX-SYD.

Delta HAS been pretty good about the ATL-NRT-ATL legs consistently with the upgraded trip-7 aircraft up until about 2 weeks ago - which then becomes about 50-50 chance. Delta also has substituted the upgraded B777-200LR's on the ATL-PVG-ATL legs around 30% of the time which according to their "buy-a-flight" screens should NOT start until around the end of October 2019. The company only has 4 of the 10 77L's completed and appears to want to have all 10 completed by November 2019 somtime.

Hmm...interesting. I wonder why they would fully close on one aircraft and not the other.

It appears that N701DN is on its way to SIN for the "4-class upgrade". It's ATL-NRT leg on 9-12 was flight DL9959, and according to flightradar24, it is to go to SIN (CAN is probably a mistake) and is to be flight DL9958. Might we suspect that DL will do 2 at a time?

I believe they did 2 at a time before the Summer break, so ya, I imagine they'd do the same now

Looking at PS seats 20A and B LAX-SYD. I like the bulkhead but am concerned with the proximity to the Lav. Has anyone sat in these seats? Am I going to have people constantly standing over me waiting in line for the Lav? Are there any other issues with these seats? Thanks!

Thanks! Just the answer I was hoping for.

I am assuming things may be behind schedule here for the LR fleet. I thought ATL-PVG was slated to get the mod in November but with 5 planes left to go, when will they actually complete this? Will multiple LRs be in mods at the same time sometime later this month?
