My review was from visual inspection, and I'm closer to your height than his. The seats on 31 with no seat in front of them are definitely more.

Flightradar is actually showing N709DN returning to ATL 2 hours after it arrives at NRT:

I read reviews all the time of folks harping on great leg room in main. Then they turns out to be 5'6". The pax next to me in the isle had no issues and seemed to be above average height if that h.elps. At my height its unsuitable.

Booked on a renovated 777 and they did a last minute change to the old un-renovated 777, without even email alerts - just musical chair the seat selection. I think Delta is sneaky in selling a renovated premium cabin experience for more money but then swap the equipment and claim it's still a 777.

Secondly, DL doesn't do this on purpose to make more money. Most likely the scheduled plane had a problem, and the options were to substitute an unmodified plane or cancel the flight and strand everyone. Most people would chose the substitute.

First off it's not a matter of DL claiming it's still a 777. It IS still a 777. That's a fact.

Please don't be a DL apologist, when they market these as superior products and sell them at a premium.

The options likely were to operate the flight with an unmodified plane, or not operate it at all. I bet the overwhelming majority of passengers support the choice DL made

While they didn't contact anyone in Delta One, every one in premium select did get a call with offers for other routes but the routing obviously changed. One of my coworkers in PS opted for a new routing. A refund of fare difference was also offered to remain on the same flight.
During boarding there was clearly a mess in the coach cabin because the FA came on the intercom to ask folks to please take their seats and follow up with Delta customer service post flight for any seating refund requests.

Unless someone can provide evidence that DL know at time of booking that they will be substituting in an unrefurbed plane, it seems pretty obviously an operational glitch rather than deliberate underhandedness. It's hardly the first time something like this has happened -- similarly there have been times a 75S goes MX and they've had to swap in a 75D/H on JFK-SFO. At least with the 777s they'll eventually all be reconfigured and it won't be a problem even with a frame swap.

Anyone have a review/opinion on 1A + 1D?
Wondering if there is a much larger footwell in the bulkhead? Also anyone know how much noise to expect in those seats? I'd imagine 1D would get most of it as the Galley is on that side.
Thanks!

I saw the discussion about bulkhead options on the new 777. Currently I have 30 H,J for myself and daughter. 31 E,F have opened, but I'm trying to figure if the extra legroom is worth it to not have a window and have to sit next to someone. I'm 5'10" so not crazy tall and likely would be on the aisle.
Interesting part of this flight is additional family is in PS directly in front of us (in front of the wall) in 25. It won't kill me either way, but would be nice to swap seats to check out PS during the flight.

Operational glitch is that a glitch, a seldom error. This seem very re-occurring and since DL is getting more money out of it, I am sure they are not in a hurry to fix the issue and just wait until T-72 or something to "notify" customers, when it's way too late to make alternative arrangements, so many people just take the hit because their work/travel schedule can't afford drastic changes.
I am not sure how any of you can defend DL in this situation.
