Delta 777-200ER/LR Conversions to 7HD & 7HB. Pre-mods config is 37J/36W/218Y. For all the ERs and the first LR, post-mods config was initially 28J/48W/220Y (7HD/7HB). The post-mods config for all ERs and LRs is now 28J/48W/90Y+/122Y (7CD/7CB).

Modifications are taking place at SIN and the entry and exit dates are based on SIN time (GMT + 8 hrs). Comfort + installation was done at ATL on all the 7HD>7CD conversions, and on 7106 (7HB>7CB). The remaining 9 LRs had the C + cabins installed at SIN.

I'm looking at row 20 (bulkhead, first row, and apparently just behind some lavatories on each side and a galley in the middle). I assume that these seats have more legroom and of course won't have someone reclining into the space, but are they also bassinet positions? Are there windows at row 20 or just a wall? I'm hesitating between 20B and an aisle further back in the center section, something like 22C (which currently is next to an empty seat, but I expect every PS seat to be filled on a TATL flight in late June, either through advanced sales, FCM-type offers and possibly misguided "upgrades" or with nonrevs at the gate). Are 20B and 20G uncomfortably exposed in the middle of the aisle with not enough wall in front to prevent the seat occupant from constantly being bumped during the flight? Is there so much leg room (infinite?) that folks waiting for the lavatory will tend to congregate in the space? Finally, the two lavatories in front of the PS cabin are dedicated for PS use, right (although realistically I would expect FAs to use them too, but hopefully not a long line of C+ and regular coach passengers)?
Go with the bulkhead pair AB or GH especially if you dislike people reclining into you, and the PS seats have more recline than C+. More like Domestic F recline with less legroom than domestic F. Tons of overhead space
Bulkhead legroom is great but not enough for anyone to congregate there, especially if you use your own carry-on as an "ottoman"
No bassinets like VS, or those seats would be blocked.
No aisle bumping in B or G
Light and activity was minimal from the galleys. The curtain is effective and the bathrooms are far enough away.
Restrooms in front of row 20 are shared with the last few rows of F but nobody is going to stop the C+ folks from walking forward even if the curtains at the back of PS are drawn.

I have a 777 flight in PS in about a week and I will attempt to scout all of this if the questions haven't been answered by then. I have not found a lot of FT-level reviews of PS seats anywhere on the internet yet. I had a cheap buyup offer to PS for LAX-SYD, but with 31F as my C+ seat, I waffled for a long time before taking it.
If coach passengers can use the PS lavatories on international flights TO the USA, wouldn't this violate the TSA rule that passengers must stay in their own cabin? I thought cabin crews were require to enforce this, although of course some do it with a lot more enthusiasm than one sees on other flights, just as some FAs seem more menacing (or more nervous) than others when they stand behind the cart blocking the aisle when pilots come out of the cockpit.

Then are the row 20 center section bulkhead seats CDEF bassinet seats? I'm assuming that there are some PS seats designated for bassinets.

Thanks very much.

Some experimentation on EF suggests that no PS seats are blocked. I'm surprised that something like 30G/30H aren't blocked for passengers with special needs, nor do the bassinet seats seem to be blocked. Does DL boot someone form a previously reserved seat if someone ticketed in PS has a baby, is handicapped, or has a service dog?

your question seems well posed. I may have just misread something...I will report back on whether they announce and/or enforce this after my flight!

I dislike being reclined into, but I dislike being climbed over or climbing over even more. What would you suggest with this seatmap?

I'd try rows 1 thru 8. They meet all of your stated requirements

If you like crawling over other people then take 25H
Otherwise take 20B. I would rather be next to a single person than take 20F and risk it being two parents with a young child in the 3 seats next to me.

Booking soon for my SYD - LAX - RDU flights in a couple months and curious about the seats (though fingers crossed I get an attractive PS upgrade offer). Looks like if I leave as soon as possible (aka Friday), I can snag 31G (which looks to be unlimited legroom) and if I hang around Sydney for an extra day best option appears to be 30H though unclear how much legroom those exit rows C+ seats have.

Also curious how the C+ seats compare to row 44 from a legroom perspective -- when I flew last year on SYD - LAX, it was a no-brainer to take row 44 with the unlimited legroom vs. the C+ seats that had more limited space
Bump

My search-fu isn't working. Is there a new "best seats" thread for the updated 777s yet? Just used a GUC for one next month and have my choice of 2A, 2D, 6A, and 6D.

I've parked myself in 2D for right now, but considering swapping to 6D just to get off the plane and into the shower queue a hair quicker.

There are 2 variables to the window seats:
  • Seat against suite door (with extended desk with storage bin underneath it) vs against window and no storage bin since room is needed for aisle egress.
  • Desk on your right or left
For me, if I want to sleep I want a seat away from suite door. If I want to work I want seat against suite door with table on my right since I am right-handed and get the extra storage bin

Extended Desk and Storage below. Odd numbered "D" seats.
.

This diagram pretty much shows you the orientation of the seat to the suite door and if the desk is on the left or right.

Row 7 is missing a window (but you still get one), so 7A and 7D are no longer the wonderful seats that one got on the pre-modified 777s.

Is the same true for row 1 (1A and 1D)? Do these seats have any extra space?

They are all wonderful now because the herringbone configuration is GONE!

I saw nothing special about the bulkhead seats 1A and 1D.

There is no center pair of suites in row 1 to make room for the upstairs crew rest, but it really doesn't make 1A and 1D feel any more private

Thanks all! This is an eastbound TATL so sleep is the priority. I also generally try not to work on flights so table/desk space and storage isn't an issue. I don't even plan to eat dinner on the flight.

Does anyone know whether the front or rear galley is used more? That might make my decision between rows 2 and 6. I usually aim for seats on the right side of the plane because I tend to sleep on my right side.

Front galley is used a lot.
At least a lot more than the A330.
All things considered, I'd take 6D.

If you don't want to be served, ask the FA to unlock your suite door early so you can close it. They tend to keep them locked open until dinner service is over since (I have been told by one FA) they are not allowed to serve over a closed suite door.

You can do it yourself with a little latch on the outside suite wall near the rear of the door while it is retracted, but let them do it for you. Don't want to potentially get off to a bad start with the crew!

6D confirmed! Good to know about the door. Thanks for the tip!
