rant: around 1900 last night I had a choice of DCA-ATL SDC options -- 0600 (73G) or 0700 (738) -- to pick up ATL-SAN-SEA this morning (yeah, I know I'll get the stinkeye from most everyone for deliberately routing onto an old domestic 30F 763); took the later one since I wanted the extra hour to sleep in ... when the alarm went off at 0415 I noticed the DL text (from ~2300) announcing a delay from 0700 to 1020
presently at DCA awaiting the 1245 to DTW; 4 of 17 for (supposedly) one remaining F seat, even though the map went from one to zero a couple hours ago ... I have the aft exit row window, 5A on DTW-SEA, and I'm getting in maybe an hour later ... I'm basically ok with the outcome; it's just a pain to discover a creative itinerary is messed up and it's too late to recover the creative part

as I posted elsewhere, that was my first option (DCA-JFK-LAX-SEA) but it wasn't available when I did my initial SDC at 1700

the new line in the FA welcome briefing: "We're excited to have you on board today!"
c'mon, really? "excited"?
