Salt and Pepper Shakers: Serious Issue

I always filch the salt and pepper shakers from the First Class meals. While the old white ones had stickies over the holes, the new gray ones just have tops that twist off. Sometimes they twist off in my luggage which is not good. Fortunately, this is not an issue for the little salad dressings.

I once asked a FA what happened to the salt/pepper shakers and they told me they are thrown away. I don't take many but I have taken a couple with me as they are perfect for picnics or the like.

Off topic, but Utah sells "gourmet salt" extracted from salt mines left from the times of the now-dried up ancient Lake Bonneville. I have taken this salt as gifts several times around the world, and honestly generally found them unappreciated.

For the Delta shakers, I just grew up poor and like free trinkets. I have them stacked up in a kitchen cabinet. My wife thinks I'm nuts doing this.

I sometimes take them, too. When I'm on the road I sometimes end up with a grab-and-go sandwich or something in between meetings and it's nice to have a bit of pepper available if I forget to grab a packet, or don't want to bother figuring out where they're kept at whatever corporate cafeteria or whatever I end up in.

I also haven't purchased shampoo in several years.

I gifted a week at the Hilton Hawaiian Village to my daughter and her husband, and they arrived yesterday to find that they apparently got an "osmosis upgrade" based on my Hilton Diamond status. They were moved from a city view room in the Kalia tower to an ocean view in the Ali'i tower.

She called me, all excited, and I said "That's awesome - bring me all of your extra shampoo."

:-D

The STUPID "Congratulations on your Medallion Complimentary Upgrade" email, when it is the same C+ seat that I chose for myself 3 months earlier. I would rather have DL IT get the APP working then wasting their time on these idiotic emails.

This isn't a random and pathetic rant: C+ isn't really an upgrade.

Laugh at the thought of C+ being an upgrade every time I see it posted.
Airlines have convinced the masses it is though and they fell for it.

Guy in 5B boards a few people before me and puts bag above my seat in 3C. I am in 3C and my bag is above him in 5B as a result now.

The entire bin above him was empty.

I hope that both of you will then decline to sit in C+ and leave those seats for those of us who do value it

I'm perfectly happy in my aisle seat in the "main cabin"...errr....coach.
More entertaining marketing for the masses with the "main cabin" label.
