I was able to pre-order the beef tenderloin on FRA-ATL on 12/5 and it actually was cooked properly and tasted good.

Any recommendations between the beef and chicken?

Normally DL beef comes medium-well to well done, so be careful if you prefer it more rare.

I see some earlier discussion about codeshares that apparently worked under the old 3-days-out-email system, but the new in-app meal ordering system does not seem to work, at least for my upcoming JFK-LAX flight marketed by Virgin Australia. (I guess it could also be because there is a further wrinkle that the trip was booked via Delta Vacations, under the 2cpm SkyMiles redemption deal this summer.)

They still send the e-mail out at T-72 if you have not made your selection in the app by then.

FWIW I did see a "Change your Entree" button on Android last week (without an update, "Version" in the app still says 5.1 and Google Play says last updated Nov 19) but didn't try it out since I was keeping tabs on someone else's reservation.

My first time on DL in a while where meals are provided, LGA-MCO. The options are:

Tarragon Chicken Salad with dried cherries and walnuts
or
Honey ginger salmon over brown basmati rice with sauteed squash, broccoli and red peppers

Curious to see how it compares with AA on this route who I am much more familiar with...Flight is next week.

Just downloaded the App upgrade and found my option to pre-select my meal! I have not flown Delta in decades so a new experience for me. I did NOT see anything on the website about selecting a meal, have not yet received an email My flight is in 12 days. My options are below. Does anyone have suggestions about what to order, what to avoid? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

ROASTED HERB CHICKEN BREAST with red wine reduction, cheesy truffle polenta, garlic broccolini and blistered tomatoes.

BRAISED BEEF SHORT RIB with fig demi-glace, mashed potatoes, baby carrot and haricot verts

RICOTTA RAVIOLI (vegetarian selection) with brown-butter tomato sauce and broccolini

SOY GLAZED CHILEAN SEA BASS with ginger scallion rice, baby bok choy and pineapple salsa

Flight is from Detroit to London on Jan. 13th. Flying Virgin Atlantic back for the first time. Hope I also have the option on that flight.

I went back in to order my meal and the order of the entrees had changed. Chicken, Ravioli, Sea Bass and Short Rib at the bottom. Interesting. I wonder if too many people were ordering the short rib so they put it on the bottom of the list? Just an observation.

On a recent D1 flight of mine, the grilled beef tenderloin seemed to be extremely popular. (The seating chart in the galley had almost all B's in the blocks.) Around my seat, I overheard some pre-orders as well as someone being asked with the comment from the purser that all of the entrees were still available, and this was near the end of the order taking process (with the purser also asking each pre-order passenger whether we would like to change our minds and get a different meal). DL must have loaded a lot of dead cow onto the flight.

I don't remember the order of the items when I preordered and I never went back to look again, so I can't confirm or deny the speculation that DL rearranges the orderings.

ADDED: I was just able to check the order from a page still open on my laptop:
1. Chicken
2. Beef
3. Asian
4. Salmon
5. Vegetarian pasta

FYI for anyone asking for the Kosher meal in the route from LIM: be prepared to eat light. I've done it for my last two flights out, one last week and the other in March and in both cases was served 2 fruits for dinner (a clementine and a granadilla) and 2 for breakfast (apple and clementine) —which makes sense, Peru does not have a large Jewish community and apparently KSML are not sent from the originating flight from ATL—. This is smaller than the regular meal, so arrive having eaten.

Also, the fruits are not sealed like the regular kosher meals of DL, so if you are strikt about contamination, you might not enjoy the experience.

I'm at 21 days out and got the option to pre-select my meal. I am flying DTW to Lax and then LAX to HNL. I only got the option to select meals for the segment from DTW to LAX. Nothing for the LAX to HNL.

Where do I find this?
