Pre-ordering has been pretty reliable for me. Come to think of it have we had any reports of someone failing to receive their pre-order? In which case I'd be curious if it was not enough of the entree or a catering issue where none of the entrees were what the original menu said. (Should prob exclude last-minute plane swaps)

The only issue I had was an error by the caterer they did not load the correct amount of meals and the Flight Attendant tried to get them to come back, but they were taking their sweet time and the Pilot made the executive decision to go with what they had (they had enough meals just not the right amount of choice A and choice B).

Pre-orders were scrapped and the Flight Attendant went straight FEBO I was row 2 so it worked for me regardless, but if you were in the bulkhead you only got what was left and 1A was not happy about pre-ordering only to receive the other option.

ROSEMARY CHICKEN ANTIPASTI

GRILLED SHORT RIB SANDWICH

Both sound fairly unappetizing, IMO. I like short rib, but it sounds messy on a sandwich and I can all the cold chicken I care for at the Skyclub. Does anyone recommend?

Neither was great honestly, I had the Grilled Short Rib Sandwhich, tasted fine but it was greasy, I think it would have been better without the cheese (which added to the greasiness of it).

In terms of "messiness", I looked around the cabin and most folks were using knives and forks, so I did too and that helped control the messy factor greatly.

My wife had the Rosemary Chicken and did not like it, said it was tasteless and slimy, however she enjoyed the rest of the dish which was mostly veggies and gave me the olives as she hates olives (the olives were fine btw).

Thanks! I requested a KSML. Seeing as their aren't a lot of KSML reports on the in-flight food thread, I'll post about it assuming it's loaded. I fully expect it to either be inedible or glorious (will eat at the club before and have a meal planned not too long after landing).

I have zero experience with KSML (assuming that stands for Kosher Meal), but for fun I did special order the Vegetarian meal once and it was interesting, an onion sandwich is how I would describe it. I am not sure that it was meant to be an onion sandwich but that is what was served.

Two pieces of soggy bread and a solitary thick slice of onion. I actually sent a picture of said sandwich into DELTA and received a response that it was a catering error and there should have been more ingredients on the sandwich.

Regardless if it was a catering error or not, I decided that Special Meals are not for me.

Note that Kosher meals are catered in sealed containers in accordance with a ridiculously strict interpretation of kosher rules. This means that everything will be presented to you sealed and you will have to open it all up, which is kind of annoying. I found this picture online of a coach meal to highlight this:

Have a ticket booked for Monday with me, my girlfriend and her daughter on one reservation. I got an email today about pre-ordering but it's only letting me and not the other two companions who are on our reservation select their choices. This is annoying.

From reading this thread this issue seems more of an absolute than a one off here or there. Has anyone had success getting all passengers on the PNR be able to select and if so how does it work? Does the main contact get one email to select each flyers meal or does each person get their own email?

It is annoying, but you can call or tweet and they can handle it for you

Do they have a SkyMiles #? If so, it should go to the e-mail listed in their account.

This is the exact thing I was asking about a few posts up. It seems like even if the other users have their skymiles account and email address or even just their email address as a non skymiles account member only the main person on the PNR receives the email for their pre-order only... SMH...

FWIW it didn't when my mom and I were traveling on the same PNR back in May. I got the pre-select email, she didn't (but Twitter took care of her selection quickly) -- she has a SkyMiles account and her correct email address in the profile.

Sorry, but I keep getting phone agents who initially say that it's too late as we're beyond T-48, but then when I stress that I'm talking about meal preorders and don't want a special meal, they agree and it works.
