Not Getting Meal Choice Emails
Hi all.
I've been on 13-14 eligible flights this year -- either paid D1 or domestic F or upgraded at the diamond window on flights with a meal, and I have not once received the meal choice email. I'm approaching 2m lifetime MQM, I get tons of emails from Delta on every other subject -- flight confirmations, delays, surveys etc) -- yet never the meal choice email. I have called the Diamond line three times about why I'm not getting these emails. I've tried twitter and email support. They promise they will look into it and I never get a response. The problem is that now with so many people pre-selecting, I'm frequently failing to get my first choice of meals. On one SFO-JFK D1 flight, the flight attendant then scolded me for not selecting my meal in advance like everyone else. This is so insane that no one can figure it out. Any thoughts or people in a similar situation? |

Any thoughts or people in a similar situation? But there is a simple fix: see post #1093 above, with instruction on how to pre-order using Twitter. We used this because DH needed a special meal, and we were quite impressed with how fast they responded. They also took care of my order from the regular choices, because I hadn't yet received the email - which arrived the next day. GC |
I've done this before, but I sometimes take so many flights in one week that I can't remember to do this. Also Twitter support is going downhill fast.
For instance, this past Saturday I tweeted at 11am regarding my meal on Sunday from ATL-JFK at 7pm. When the app auto checked me in at 24 hours, I realized that twitter had never even responded to me. On the flight, despite being in the middle of the FC cabin, I failed to get my meal choice. Ended up with a mayo soaked cole slaw, a mayo-soaked white break "short rib" sandwich that had two tiny pieces of meat. Would have loved the cold chicken plate with veggies... but no. |
Ordered mine yesterday for my flight tomorrow from ATL-TUS, choice between the Asian Chicken or Salmon.

At least one known glitch has been found, and with an easy fix, as reported earlier in this thread. Apparently, if you have saved a special meal request in a profile (perhaps a corporate travel agency profile), then this will override you getting the email. Apparently the system thinks that you've already submitted a request, even though these old requests are apparently not honored. You need to remove this special request to fix this problem, though it's not clear that this is the only cause of people not getting emails. |

Any thoughts or people in a similar situation? Call DL. Phone agents can read descriptions of the main course choices for your flight to you and then enter your request. Just make sure to do this before T-24 (and don't let the agent tell you it's T-48, which is the deadline for special meals like diabetic, kosher, etc.). |

LGA-ORD really disappointing meal selections as I don’t eat fish: honey soy salmon or the awful tarragon chicken salad dish which I’ll have to go with but looks like one of Deltas most awful dishes in rotation recently. |
I haven't had a fish entree on D1 domestic flights for a long time. It may not be a popular dish, but I'd like to see more variety.

I don't eat pork (or any meat, only eat fish) so not thrilled with this. Opted for the French Toast and will just not eat the bacon rather than ordering a vegetarian meal, because every time I do they are just so awful. Hopefully the french toast is good! CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST** with Tamai Family Farms strawberry butter and bacon SCHANER FAMILY FARM CHEDDAR SCRAMBLED EGGS** chorizo sausage patty, roasted button mushrooms, tomato salsa **contains pork |
RUC for Sunday's SLC-RDU finally cleared 7/29. Received an email about pre-ordering today.
