I hope the four DL 360's that get a chance to try have a favorable opinion. :D

It's been over thirteen months and it's not "soon" yet but at least we're finally getting closer.

I don't get the test part.
Just implement it.

I'm guessing you have very little experience with Delta IT ;) :D

I agree. This is all moot as long as DL's catering is utterly inconsistent. From what I've heard, DL has tried to cut its catering contracts to the bone. That need to change for this to be worthwhile. I'm interested to see what the error rate turns out to be.

You would think with FCM (vs Upgrade Class) Delta would be able to improve the quality of the F product, including catering. Most of the F meals look like box lunches from a corporate picnic.

My theory is that the delay in implementation is not IT-related, but is from the catering side.

In spite of the theorizing here by some, that more paid FC seats would allow quality increases in the product, FCM is likely only focused on revenue enhancement. And, product improvements, are not likely to perceived as enhancing revenue.

Dinnerware is dinnerware... just as long as it isn't paper or plastic.

Toiletries are toiletries.

Bedding is bedding.

I have never been able to understand the awe with which some here view the outcomes of each successive marketing venture between DL and some trendy commodity provider.

As long as DL continues to provide real cloth napkins, with the button hole in one corner (a 30+ year tradition), I'll be content with the service items.

As to the theme of the thread... being able to pre-select the meal would be a real boon. I just hope that DL does not run out the program before it is ready for prime time.

Absolutely. That button hole is there for a reason. Yet almost no one uses it!! I always. ALWAYS attach the napkin to my top collar button. Protects the shirt and tie and everything. PERFECT!!

Why don't more people use the button hole?? It's such a smart and pragmatic idea.

I agree, and would use the button hole, except that I rarely wear shirts that have buttons :)

The pax next to me saw me do this last week on DTW-LAX flight and was kinda excited to learn there actually was a button hole on that napkin! Said he never noticed before. I bet a lot of others just haven't noticed it.
