The preselect menu has exactly the same options you would get on board, and in some cases (international Delta One mainly) there are even additional preselect options which can't be ordered if you want until you're on board to order.

Yes, you get the normal on board options 'signature selection' and in some cases additional options 'limited selection' that are only available ordered prior to departure.

You can also usually switch on-board if you have second thoughts etc.

Pre-ordering meals on domestic flights
 

Has Delta reopened the opportunity to pre-order meals on their domestic flights? I recall pre-Covid receiving an email to make a meal selection on flights when meals were served.

In one week I have an evening flight MSY-MSP in F and then the next day MSP-ANC in F.

Should I receive an email to make a meal selection or do I go on the Delta website to make a meal selection?

No - there is no Pre-Ordering. Hopefully your route will actually serve you a meal and not a BOX.

I hope Delta starts offering special meal selections on domestic flights in business/first that is not Delta-one, other airlines have started doing this so it is high time!

There have been previous reports of hot meals on MSY and ANC routes, so it would seem chances are better than some other stations where cold meal boxes still appear to be the norm.

The option to Pre-select meals for me is coming up on the app for a LAX-ATL flight but when I go to save it, it won't save, for the past week. Haven't gotten an email yet either but the flight is now 48 hours away. Anyone had the same issues?

I was able to pre-order a meal on the app for a MCO-JFK flight I took last night 🤷🏼‍♂️

Back in March, I couldn't get a preorder for DTW-LHR to save. I just called and it stuck. Maybe unfortunately, it was the pasta with lobster sauce and was dried out - maybe because we had significant turbulence for the first hour of the flight so it stayed in the oven too long?

I was only asking because when I didn't see the option in the app, I used the messaging system and the rep told me it wasn't a thing.

It's a thing. Restarted around July 11-15 or so for domestic FC.

That's what I thought but I didn't feel like pushing back.

This is the message I received on 7/26 for a flight on 7/28:
"Oh I see, I regret to inform you, as of now there's no pre-order for the meals. We're so sorry for the inconvenience."
