There's a few oddball connection routes running plated meals over 900 miles that won't be eligible for pre-select.

It should be available to you in the app at exactly 7 days to the hour of your flight. An email is sent to the email on record for the trip as well.

Booked an F trip tonight just a few hours before the 7 day window. Promptly at the 7 day mark I received an email for preselect, and the option appeared in the app.

SEA-ANC:

Charcuterie Plate
Tortelloni with Impossible Bolognese
Beef Short Rib with Corn Pudding

Opted for the short rib as I’ve enjoyed similar preparations of it. The charcuterie plate seems a bit light for an F dinner service. The tortelloni was a close second choice, but I’m a bit over the “impossible” options.

That was the issue - it was a DL CX flight (that I didn't even get to take anyway lol)

Choosing meal
 
I will be flying Delta for the first time in a number of years on Aug. 30, JFK-AMS, in Delta One. How do I choose my meal? Just a regular meal, not a special meal. On AA there is an icon I can click on. Many thanks, Julia

Around 7 days prior to departure you will receive an email inviting you to view the menu and make a selection. The option also appears in the Delta App around the same time. So nothing to do until the 7 day mark :)

You'll get an email to select your meal 1 week before the flight. The app will also have an option at the same time frame.

If you don't have a working link by about T-48, call DL to pick your meal.

Just go into DL app.

It even works for domestic F routes where pre-order is back.

They also let you choose on the flight, though the options are more limited.

Around 7 days out, you'll get an email and it will show up in the app.

In Android it appears on the "MY TRIPS" tab -- in the list of trips you will see something like "SELECT YOUR ENTREE". I assume IOS is similar.

It should also appear if you tap to view an individual trip.

I recently had issues with my Pre-Select meal "saving" when I would select it on the app and never go the email to do so. It was an RUC upgraded flight but when I went to check-in, I couldn't and called to see if it had been re-issued correctly, and it wasn't. So didn't realize that was a clue to ticketing issues, I think....anyone also have this same problem?

No e-mail and no option to pre-select in app for BOS-SEA on 8/23. Chat agents invariably push special meals, and phone agent no help, either. Never have had a problem in the past.

it seems to be hit or miss.
I had no emails but got select option in App for return LAX-DCA,
My outbound DCA-LAX had no email or options in the App
