This wiki is intended to contain a list of opportunities to fly internationally configured wide-body aircraft within the United States, aside from the usual JFK-LAX/SFO 767s and newer domestic DeltaOne routes. This is a collaborative wiki, not an OP-maintained thread; please contribute by editing the wiki directly as you become aware of regularly scheduled or repositioning flights. Schedules change far more frequently than community members have time to update this wiki; therefore please verify the equipment before purchasing a flight.

These international narrowbodies would normally also fly the domestic DeltaOne routes JFK-LAX/SFO, BOS-LAX, and DCA-LAX.

During COVID-19, when many international routes are suspended, they can be found on some domestic routes (including Hawai'i):

Regular service through March 2021:
JFK-LAS
JFK-PHX
JFK-SAN
JFK-SEA
JFK-SFO
JFK-SLC
LAX-KOA
SEA-KOA
SEA-OGG

Positioning / one-offs:
SLC-SEA
SLC-LAS
SLC-BOS 4x a week
BOS-LAX
JFK-MEX
JFK-SJU
LAX-HNL

one way to search for these on ITA

This Delta Cargo schedule lists wide body routes by region.

Looks like the A350 is running between LAX and ATL, Sunday only Red-Eye to ATL, Monday evening only return to LAX. Through Sept. 6th

Hopefully it will drive down domestic airfare as Delta tries to keep their revenue up while canceling tons of TPAC flights.

How will this drive down domestic airfare? I guess not having to worry about loosing money on the low yield China flights?

Likely just using flight to rotate international equipment between two of their main TATL hubs.
The repositioning of the B777-200LR for the JFK-BOM leg (and back) began December 22nd of last year (2019) when the daily service was started. All 10 birds eventually need to be returned to ATL for use on the pacific routes. Just like the LAX-SYD leg (and back) needs to have the 77L's re-positioned back to ATL for this BOM leg as well as the PVG leg. Of course DL could get creative and route the bird(s) from JFK to ASM to ATL, eliminating the domestic portion ....and.... route the LAX to PVG to ATL which again eliminates the domestic leg of these ships. Just sayin'.

There used to be regular winter domestic widebody routes out of SFO every winter, and those are gone now. I don't think that has anything whatsoever to do with availability of widebody planes. I think DL just makes more money putting 739s on those routes and leaving the widebodies parked. I can't think of any reason why that logic would change because of China. IMO, DL is still going to fly the 739 on those routes because they still make more money doing so. That is my prediction

So this is fun. DL is adding up to 3 daily wide-bodies to SAN during the China cancellations. At peak, this will double daily passenger wide-body movements at SAN (adding to the 747/777 to LHR on BA, A340 to FRA on LH, and 787 to NRT on JL).

A330-300
ATL-SAN DL1692 Daily MAR12-MAR26, departs 8:11 am
SAN-ATL DL1692 Daily MAR12-MAR26, departs 11:10 am

767-300ER
ATL-SAN DL8808 Daily MAR12-MAR31 departs 9:30 am
SAN-ATL DL8815 Daily MAR12-MAR31 departs 3:30 pm
ATL-SAN DL1692 Daily MAR27-APR18, APR22-APR30 departs 8:11 am
SAN-ATL DL1692 Daily MAR27-APR30, APR22-APR30 departs 11:10 am

DTW-SAN DL8817 Daily MAR12-MAR31 departs 12:15 pm
SAN-DTW DL8816 Daily MAR12-MAR31 departs 1:00 pm

767-400
ATL-SAN DL1692 Daily APR19-APR21 departs 8:11 am
SAN-ATL DL1692 Daily APR19-APR21 departs 11:10 am

March Madness is one of the biggest weekends in LV even without any games played there...

My bad. DL is removing all the 767s from TPAC. I thought that was complete but it looks like there's one route left
