This wiki is intended to contain a list of opportunities to fly internationally configured wide-body aircraft within the United States, aside from the usual JFK-LAX/SFO 767s and newer domestic DeltaOne routes. This is a collaborative wiki, not an OP-maintained thread; please contribute by editing the wiki directly as you become aware of regularly scheduled or repositioning flights. Schedules change far more frequently than community members have time to update this wiki; therefore please verify the equipment before purchasing a flight.

This might be a dumb question but what's a good method of tracking these widebody upgrades? Hoping to catch some domestic widebody flights out of MSP this winter or spring. This thread has some good info but I'm sure they are some that aren't mentioned here or up to date.

I'd suggest looking for wide bodies added to increase capacity on especially high travel days, such as perhaps the Sunday after Thanksgiving or key southern destinations around spring break. In the past, certain huge conventions and trade shows would also be candidates, but these meetings are likely to have been cancelled or switched to remote/virtual only at this point.

Thanks for the quick reply. Appreciate it. I guess I was wondering if there was some kind of automated way to receive alerts or more easily search. It seems some people have a good way of detecting these widebody flights. For example, I am considering a flight to Tampa in December and just saw there were direct flights on 767. Never would have expected that. Just wondering if any of these outliers exist.
Such flights generally touch a hub on one end or the other, so you could e.g. put in ATL as the origin and use the Matrix feature that lets you specify a range of airports in a geographical radius as the destination, sort of shotgun approach.

I don’t recall the 764 being any sort of scheduled visitor to PHX until well into this past decade.
There was, however, a daily 763 departure at 17:40 ATL 18:45 PHX 19:30 LAS 20:42 (summer hours) and it operated as DL0689 as the first two legs, which terminated in LAS. FA staffing on the ATL-PHX leg was seven, I think one cooking two working the F aisles, and four in the rear. In PHX, fa working G-position would solo-overnight PHX and join a NEW breakfast flight CREW to work ATL on a 757 that in-bound to PHX, was a post-meal hours for it’s departure west and staffed with five FA’s but needed six to return tonATL because full-meal service flights staffed two in F on the 757 and four in Y. The flight 689 It was a fully catered dinner flight, and it was always a treat to be surprised at which layout of the 767-300 you were going to be on. Some had strictly overhead projectors for all cabins, which required fa’s to sometimes manually lift (two-person job) a large, rigid white screen first horizontally from one aisle, OVER seats CDE, then turned vertically and click-locked into the center seats PSU. This process was reversed after the presentation of the safety video, was read attached after region cruise level and was detached once again prior to landing. Those layout of the 763 domestic also failed to have any video display visible for only the single passenger seated on each side at the first OWE (seat was B and F) with the row directly behind each having seats A/B, F/G and both A/G seats had no seat in-front of it, thus direct exit access and generous legroom, for both pax in that row. Every other see I had a clear view of the overhead projector screen each cabin. The second domestic play out I remember for the 763 maintain the RGB overhead projectors and screens, but also added a small LCD video display mounted on the bulkhead at each OWE bulkhead, as well as overhead, aisle mounted small TVs every few rows. This daily visitor to PHX ceased immediately after 9/11 and didn’t see a regularly scheduled wide-body service from DL until post-2010/Song.

Seeing lots of 767-400 and 767-300 flights on ATL-MCO-ATL in December going on into January. Also lots of 757-300s on the route now.

6x daily on ATL-MCO and 2x daily on DTW-MCO for December schedule (which runs through Jan 4th). Unfortunately, they all go away after that.
