This wiki is intended to contain a list of opportunities to fly internationally configured wide-body aircraft within the United States, aside from the usual JFK-LAX/SFO 767s and newer domestic DeltaOne routes. This is a collaborative wiki, not an OP-maintained thread; please contribute by editing the wiki directly as you become aware of regularly scheduled or repositioning flights. Schedules change far more frequently than community members have time to update this wiki; therefore please verify the equipment before purchasing a flight.

According to flightsfrom.com searching widebodies flying in the USA with Delta airlines from ATL the week of Thanksgiving there are a number of domestic destinations available. Most are with the 767, but many are scheduled with the A330 on the weekend following Thanksgiving (Nov30/Dec1) in anticipation of the travel demands that weekend. The LAX-ATL route is with a 777 most all the time.

Just flew ATL-JFK on the 777-200LR in DeltaOne. Tremendous equipment for the route, just a real nice treat. The crew made quite a fuss about showing off their nice aircraft and reminding everyone that this was not typical. Excellent service, too.
It appears that over the next few weeks, the 767s are running to Orlando from ATL. SLC is also seeing them. I'm headed to SJU in a few weeks and my return flight is on the A330. Other than those few, I haven't seen anything else unique showing up in the scheduling.

Not to rain on anyone's parade but that's a daily flight it's to position a 777 for JFK-BOM.

Likely just using flight to rotate international equipment between two of their main TATL hubs.

None. DL has plenty of big planes available, especially during the winter. If they wanted to run domestic widebody service, they would do so

Yes but DL does a lot of maintenance work in the winter as well so there aren’t as many open frames as you think. With the new China cancellations, several more widebodys have suddenly became open and I doubt DL is just going to ground those planes.

I have been thinking the same thing. Plus have to keep the crews going. I expect to see a few opportunities - Let's keep this thread up to date.

We'll see. Yes I'm aware of winter maintenance. Even with that, I believe DL has more capacity than they are using. And, in my experience, DL has always been very happy to let planes sit rather than fly routes that they don't want to fly. There used to be regular winter domestic widebody routes out of SFO every winter, and those are gone now. I don't think that has anything whatsoever to do with availability of widebody planes. I think DL just makes more money putting 739s on those routes and leaving the widebodies parked. I can't think of any reason why that logic would change because of China. IMO, DL is still going to fly the 739 on those routes because they still make more money doing so. That is my prediction
