This wiki is intended to contain a list of opportunities to fly internationally configured wide-body aircraft within the United States, aside from the usual JFK-LAX/SFO 767s and newer domestic DeltaOne routes. This is a collaborative wiki, not an OP-maintained thread; please contribute by editing the wiki directly as you become aware of regularly scheduled or repositioning flights. Schedules change far more frequently than community members have time to update this wiki; therefore please verify the equipment before purchasing a flight.

During COVID-19, when many international routes are suspended, they can be found on some domestic routes (including Hawai'i):

Regular service through March 2021:
JFK-LAS
JFK-PHX
JFK-SAN
JFK-SEA
JFK-SFO
JFK-SLC
LAX-KOA
SEA-KOA
SEA-OGG

Positioning / one-offs:
SLC-SEA
SLC-LAS
SLC-BOS 4x a week
BOS-LAX
JFK-MEX
JFK-SJU
LAX-HNL

one way to search for these on ITA

This Delta Cargo schedule lists wide body routes by region.

Looks like the A350 is running between LAX and ATL, Sunday only Red-Eye to ATL, Monday evening only return to LAX. Through Sept. 6th

makes perfect sense, and I thought for a second it would have had something to do with EF! LOL, (that was a dig on me).

i'm sadly guessing that 747 domestic runs will be very difficult to find if not impossible after all the 747 flights have officially been moved to DTW.

I edited the Wiki to include ATL-LAS-ATL (76W) and DTW-SAN-DTW (332) on the Sunday following Thanksgiving.

Not certain what this is suppose to mean. Domestic 747 runs have always been "very difficult to find if not impossible" -- they've been used solely for IRROPS, repositioning and capacity additions following Thanksgiving; the number of domestic flights they've been operated on to/from ATL for these reasons is about the same as to/from DTW -- and the overall number is very, very small.

The only truly scheduled domestic 747 flight DL has operated post-merger is that of ATL/HNL. Prior to that, you'd have to go back to the late 1990s when NW scheduled 747 seasonally on DTW/MSP-MCO and MSP-HNL. The 747 also made some cameo appearances (not in the timetable) MSP-HNL in the 2000s.

Occasionally you would see a repositioning 747 flight on say, ATL to DTW. Now, with the 74's soon gone from ATL, there is practically no chance of that happening...That's what I mean.

The few 747 positioning flights over the past several years have been nearly exclusively to/from DTW, since it's DL's sole 747 base. ATL has a sole 747 flight, and while an aircraft typically sits on the ground for 22+ hours, it's incredibly rare for DL to deploy it.

Honestly, no changes occurring really.

Not to hijack the thread, but there have quite a few ATL-JFK 747 exchanges in IRROPS over the last few years, some as revenue flights.

Like I said, you would occasionally see a 747 on ATL to DTW. there have been a thread or two on these flights in the past.

Would it be more helpful to display by departure airport vs airplane type?

On November 30th, In addition to the 777 doing ATL-SFO-DTW, there is an A330-200 doing DTW-SFO-DTW the same day but it's a redeye (Returns to DTW Nov 31st). Pretty rare at SFO for Delta.

Enjoy the ride! Now that they have been refurbished, way better than the 767s, and IMO slightly better than the 777s as well though it's pretty close.
