Was given number 1-877-745-5040 as direct number for claiming rewards.
But easier to do at https://easyrewards.tdbank.com/ and statement credits post very quickly.
Target and Walmart seem to be posting at 1%, even when they are supposed to code grocery.

When is the last day of bonus? Is it 6 calender months, exactly 180 days, 6 statement periods, or something else?
EDIT: "first 6 billing statements"

Sorry if this is posted somewhere, I was unable to find the thread.
For the first 6 months after sign up, you get 5% cash back on groceries, gas and cable, phone and utility bill payments with the TD Bank Cash Rewards card. The utility bill payments are a big deal for me, since this is the only card that I know of right now that gives 5% on electricity and gas bills. One could buy gift cards and use them to pay your utilities, but that has additional fees in buying the gift card (not to mention that there are much cheaper ways of getting money off of visa/mc gift cards).
In any case, I recently found out that you can churn these cards. I closed my account in January 2013, and re-applied in September 2013, and they gave me the 5% bonus for 6 months again! They said you are considered a new customer after 3 months of closing your CC, so a husband and wife could get the 5% bonus indefinitely by applying and closing accounts.
Note, it is not easy to apply for this card; you either have to have an account with TD Bank or apply in person at a branch. Gotta love the Canadians.

I found that in my case, the transaction can be in the 7th statement period and still earn 5% if the transaction date (not the post date) is less than or equal to the 6th statement close date.

My account is now under review. Does anyone know what I can expect? I have had holds with this card for up to 8 days, but this will be my first review. I was told that someone will call me in 24-48 hours or maybe longer.

Yes, I still have online access. And you're right, I can't make any purchases with it. The way I know it's under review is that there's a huge banner when I log in telling me that my account is restricted and directing me to call customer service. Still same account status 2.5 weeks later.

My account was frozen because of an external payment. They said it takes 8 days for the payment to "clear." They said I can come into a branch to verify the source of the payment to remove the hold immediately. Does anyone have any experience with this? What kind of proof do they need? Also, is this routine? Do you think these holds are initiate by humans or some kind of automated risk algorithm?

So technically, your spending is still during the 6th statement period, it just didn't posted until the 7th statement period. Right?

I received an offer for TD First Class Rewards Visa. 3% on travel, dining, 30K sign up bonus, $89 AF waved first year. I don't find this offer that compelling.

How do you know your account is under review? I used my card in a restaurant early today and it worked fine, but it did not work when I tried to use it in a grocery store. I logged in my account, I did not see banner what some people mentioned. Does that mean my account is restricted?

Grocery for me.
you could be restricted seriously, or just one purchase was declined for fraud concerns.
They wouldn't tell me what my limit was for the restriction. I'm a bit surprised they didn't just shut me down completely.

I called in to number on the back and they told me (first had to get transferred to account specialist). No mention of it being blocked online.
