No. It is not only the speed that is annoying. It is merely the fact that it pops up, getting in the way of me actually entering data.

Doesn't pop up on my firefox which is perfectly fine with me.

All it takes is a few variables and 10 minutes of coding and they'll have a fully functioning Javascript calendar.

They had one once. They turned it off at some point. I have no idea why.

It doesn't pop up at all since many of us asked that it not since it was so slow. Now it apparently doesn't pop up at all in FF even if you click the button, which is certainly not what CO intended.

As for it popping up and interrupting the data, I know that it is not over the box, but the act of the pop-up catches the eye and it is just distracting enough to be annoying, even if it isn't covering where I'm trying to type. That's really why I don't like it. Plus the speed issues it has.

Once again, the preview site is up!

These are the projected improvements this time:

Look for these select improvements when previewing the site:

-Using “Manage Reservations,” you can now retrieve Avis, Budget, Dollar and Thrifty car rental bookings that were made when you were not signed in to your OnePass account
-You can now use an Electronic Travel Certificate or a continental.com Gift Certificate to pay for a ticket regardless of your billing country.
-Continue to book travel to an expanded selection of non-Continental serviced destinations at continental.com. We’re progressively adding over 200 more destinations throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America.

Thank you for your participation. Your feedback will be helpful as we make continued improvements to continental.com.
Will be having fun with it for the next few days!

Good: sort by miles works now.
Would be good: search by city code (NYC, PAR)...
But... when I do that I'm getting some really screwy results. I saw a reasonable BF fare JFK-LHR-CDG-LHR-EWR (VS Upper, AF Bus, CO Bus) on ita (also on orbitz)... Played with NYC and multi-city (nyc-lhr-cdg-ewr) and got something like jfk-lhr-bos-mco-iah-cdg-ewr for 17k. Got the VS segment, but no way would co.com (preview) give an AF segment lon-par.

Once again the preview site is up.

I am remote so I can't post the e-mail but one point that stuck out to me was the removal of the EUA setting for now (it will be back at a later release). CO knows there are issues, at least that's what this translates to me.

  • Secure Flight
The TSA is requiring that customers advise Continental of the following personal information that will be shared with the TSA. The information must match the identification document being used at the airport:
    • First, middle (if applicable), last names and suffix if applicable
    • Date of Birth
    • The type of document that will be used for identification at the airport
    • Gender
    • Redress number, if applicable. Get more information about your redress number.
You can enter the above information on the Traveler Information page during the booking process. If you are signed in to your OnePass account, you will be given the option to save this information to your profile for future use. Note: The name provided for Secure Flight does not have to match the name on your reservation or on your OnePass account.
  • The ability to opt out of automatic Elite upgrades in Manage Reservations is temporarily disabled and will be reinstated in a future release. Please contact the Elite desk if you wish to opt out of automatic Elite upgrades.
  • On Aug. 29, 2009, Palm Pre users can use their device to access our Web site.

Interesting that they are not requiring the ticket or onepass name to match for the TSA garbage.

How do I get to this Secure Flight Information page? I have 3 tickets for TATl travel and all of the receipts do not include a middle initial or name although my passport displays my middle name. From what i can tell my OP account does not include anywhere my middle name or initial.

I called the elite line and they seem to have 0 clue why I need to enter this information. If it matter my OP account dates back to '94.

Edited: Elite line after talking to a supervisor says i have to call the OPSC during normal biz hours, but they fixed 1/3 tickets for this weekend.

Go to My Account - Manage Profile - Traveler ID(s)

You can set up multiples with different names, just as they appear on the ID Document. I set up 3 to see how it worked.

Did anyone else notice the Twiter link? Continental has jumped on the bandwagon! http://twitter.com/continental

speedster1978 Aug 17, 2009 11:20 pm

I saw the part where it asks me the TYPE of ID that I am going to use... but why not just go ahead and get the information while they are at it?

I mean, it gets the passport info... why not DL state and number for instance?

bocastephen Aug 17, 2009 11:28 pm

Unless the ID type and data points (DOB, gender, etc) will appear on the boarding pass for the doofus checking ID, you can just enter gibberish info here and the TSA won't know the difference.

I'm not giving out my personal info without a fight.

It's been discussed there.

Will CO and the TSA be requiring my SS#, Bank Account Info, and FT Password, as well? Did anyone notice the new Shop OnePass Partner, Nigeria Spam, Inc.?

I'll be printing BP's tomorrow so, if the software has been updated, I'll let you know what, if anything, is printed on them regarding Secure Flight.
